The room was clean and tidy, and the front desk staff were very warm and thoughtful. The breakfast was also rich, with freshly cooked noodles. I recommend staying here, everything was great! Dining options are also not far, just a few minutes' walk away.

I haven't been to Dazu in over twenty years, and this time I came specifically to see the rock carvings. However, the hotel's lobby, size, location, and service simply don't live up to a 4-star rating. As a travel and hotel professional with over 30 years of experience, I'm quite surprised by this misstep in choosing a room on Trip.com. I'm not sure if it's my judgment that was off or if Trip.com's hotel standards are inaccurate.

Solid 3 star experience for a 4 star hotel, OR 5 stars for a 3 star hotel. There wasn't anything terribly wrong with it, but the service was definitely not up to par for a 4 star hotel. Upon checking in, I was given no information except my room # & floor. I came back downstairs after leaving my items to inquire about the other inclusions as mentioned in booking and welcome email (the freebies - snacks, tea, didi coupon etc) - it was like pulling teeth had to ask them again one by one before they would offer... breakfast had a small selection and was cold when I got there. No tea/coffee.. coffee not available in room either. At breakfast, you had the lovely view and sound of construction - I understand construction schedules are hard to control. Anyways, nothing particularly horrible. It would be fine for a 3 star hotel, but at 4 stars I would at least expect warmer hospitality upon check-in. Thank you for the lovely cleaning lady who kindly stepped in to help me at checkout, as there was no one there at reception. My room was clean and couldn't hear the construction. The TV was working, and slippers were provided.
