I booked a 'Cloud River View Room,' but I could only catch a tiny glimpse of the river from the corners of the windows. I booked over ten days in advance and even left a note with my reservation, then called the hotel beforehand. They assured me everything would be fine, only for me to check into a 'Cloud River View Room' with virtually no river view. It completely ruined my good mood upon entering the room.
Service: Average, neither particularly good nor bad. For this price point, it's pretty standard. I checked my luggage and asked if they could bring it downstairs when I came to pick it up. The front desk replied that they could if they weren't busy, but couldn't if they were. What exactly defines 'busy' or 'not busy' anyway? What kind of service is this for a hotel at this price? It's not a budget hotel costing two or three hundred a night, yet their service seems to depend on how busy they are. Am I to understand that I pay good money, and if they're busy, I have to do everything myself, but if they're not, I might get some service? When I was leaving, they even asked me for a good review, which really annoyed me. (Mainly because going up was such a hassle: first, you take an elevator to the 44th floor, then transfer to another elevator to the 57th floor to pick up your bags, then go back down to the 44th floor, and finally transfer to an elevator down to the 1st floor).
Hygienics: Generally good. The room was clean when I entered. However, for this price, the toilet was still an old-fashioned model, not a smart one, which I found a bit unacceptable. Another point is that for a two-night stay, the bathroom wasn't cleaned on the second day.
Environment: The lobby environment is quite good. The high-altitude river view is genuinely beautiful, and I have to say, the breakfast was excellent. There was a good variety of food, and it tasted great – I felt it was definitely above average for this price range, and the view of the river from the restaurant was stunning. This was a definite highlight for me.
This is my first time writing such a long review, and I'm genuinely angry, but I feel I've written a very fair assessment despite my temper. These are just my honest feelings. Perhaps other 'Cloud River View Rooms' have much better river views, but even booking over ten days in advance didn't get me one. I guess the hotel is just too popular, and I had bad luck. You can try your luck if you wish. Ultimately, my opinion is: the hotel is good, but I won't be returning!

This was the second hotel I stayed at in Chongqing, primarily because it cut about 20-30 minutes off my travel time to Dazu, haha. The convenience of having Impression City Mall right downstairs was a huge plus. (Side note: I highly recommend Wudu Chengwai on the 6th floor – delicious and much better than Yunsheng on the 2nd floor.)
My previous hotel in Jiefangbei was on the 67th floor with stunning river views, so I didn't expect much from a 17th-floor room here. But I was pleasantly surprised! The 270-degree view was truly amazing – the clear river, bustling elevated roads, and trains zipping by. I honestly just wanted to stay in the room all day.
The hotel is relatively new, and the amenities are quite modern, meeting all sorts of contemporary needs. However, for a five-star hotel, the decor feels a bit like a high-end **[insert generic upscale hotel chain, e.g., Marriott/Hilton Garden Inn vibes]**. I guess it's meant to be a new, stylish take, different from older five-star establishments.
The breakfast was also excellent, with a good variety and tasty options. Being able to make my own fruit and vegetable juice was a fun and delicious bonus. The biggest surprise was that the coffee was actually better than at my previous hotel (especially considering that one was three times the price per night!).
Thank you to Steven, Leo, and Yuna for their thoughtful service.
