City Central Motel Apartments

It's just a regular motel, but quite spacious. No breakfast is provided, but there's a Subway right next door. It's very convenient to walk to almost anywhere in the city center from here. It takes less than 5 minutes to walk to the Cardboard Cathedral, and from there, if you keep going, you'll find a large parking garage, a big supermarket, and the main tourist area. If you have plenty of time, you could just leave your car at the motel and spend the whole day exploring, then come back in the evening. Alternatively, parking near the Botanical Gardens isn't expensive either.

The sheets were quite old, and the bed was too far away and uncomfortable. The facilities were a bit dated and looked quite different from the photos. There was a strange smell when I entered, but I've noticed this is a common issue with most motels, possibly a mildew smell from the carpet. However, the biggest problem was that the hotel is right by the road, and the soundproofing was terrible. I could clearly hear people talking in the next room at night. I'd advise anyone with poor sleep quality to avoid this place. The price was cheap, but prices in Christchurch are generally not high. If I could, I'd rather spend a few extra dollars for a good night's sleep. Sleep is too important for driving the next day.
