Club Med Joyview Thousand Island Resort

Our stay at Club Med Qiandao Lake was incredibly comfortable this time. Suki provided excellent service, advising us on worthwhile activities and helping us avoid common pitfalls. The water and land parks offered a high level of fun. It’s an all-in-one spot for dining, entertainment, and activities, so there's no need to go back and forth. Highly recommended for family trips.

Club Med Qiandao Lake is about an hour's taxi ride from the high-speed train station. The resort's natural environment is quite good. We dropped off the kids at the Kids' Club, and the adults were able to go for a short hike. The children really enjoyed the activities at the Kids' Club. Also, a big thank you to our GO Felicia for mailing back the clothes we left behind at the hotel.

I came here with my kids for a summer vacation, mainly because the club offers many activities for children, which allows me to relax. The location isn't very convenient though, with only the hotel and a few nearby restaurants. There aren't many dining options, so we pretty much just stayed at the hotel. It's a bit far to go to the city center, but the hotel has plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained. I'd also like to thank Candy, who was very responsive to all my questions, helped arrange a taxi, and clearly explained all the important details. When I had a headache, she even sent a car to take me to buy medicine. The service was truly excellent, and I'll definitely stay here again if I get the chance! 🥰

Our family, including our child, stayed in a standard room at Club Med for a vacation, and we truly had a fantastic time. A big thank you to Suki! She recommended a variety of fun activities based on our child's interests and reminded us of activity times, which helped us plan our days efficiently. During our stay, she was always quick to respond, whether it was a small issue with the room or questions we had about entertainment and activities. When we reported an odd smell in our room, it was addressed promptly. She even came from the lobby to Building C to find us, helped us switch rooms, and gave our child a toy. She was kind and patient with us, and very friendly towards our child. We were able to fully enjoy our parent-child time; our child had a blast, and our whole family had a wonderful time. Many thanks to Suki for her excellent service – it was a perfect trip!

The hotel's location is indeed quite remote, 50 km from the high-speed train station. It's really only suitable for guests who plan to stay within the resort and not venture out. I had great experiences with other Club Meds before, so I visited the Nanjing and Qiandao Lake ones during the summer. I came to this one with tempered expectations, knowing it wouldn't be as good as the traditional villages. However, it's even worse than the Xianlin Club Med in Nanjing. The service is the absolute worst; no one was enthusiastic or welcoming. The buffet was unappetizing, and the 'Yi Bar' drinks were also bad. I truly regret booking an all-inclusive package – it was not worth it! It should just be treated as a regular hotel. If you're not going to participate in Club Med's extensive activities and interact with the G.O.s, there's no point in coming to such a remote Club Med! There are plenty of 5-star hotels in towns. I booked two rooms and specifically requested them to be adjacent to my parents' room, but they ended up being several doors apart, which was fine. However, one room wasn't ready until 4 PM, and then at checkout, they wouldn't even allow one room a late checkout, claiming it was fully booked. It was a Monday, what 'fully booked' are they talking about? I think it's more likely that there weren't enough housekeeping staff, so they couldn't get things ready in time! The room's cleanliness was mediocre, and there were flies at the buffet. Breakfast items were also refilled very slowly. Most importantly, the evening activities were very lackluster. The G.O.s showed no enthusiasm, there was no atmosphere; they just seemed to be going through the motions. There wasn't even a participation show for the children. Overall, I'm very disappointed with this Qiandao Lake Club Med. It's terrible. I didn't experience the Club Med hotel culture or philosophy at all. I do not recommend staying here.

I chose the all-inclusive package, which saved me a lot of hassle and effort. There's a shuttle bus service from the high-speed rail station to the hotel and back, and within the resort, there are on-call shuttles for easy transportation. The daily activities were also abundant, from water activities like 'upup' to Exploration Park No. 7, and from sports like table tennis, archery, and rock climbing within the resort to the 'era show'. The schedule was packed. A big thanks to our butler, Felicia, for her consistent help, prompt replies, and patient answers to all our questions. I'll definitely consider coming back next time!

We brought our kids to Club Med for a vacation. Suki was incredibly thoughtful and attentive to our needs. She proactively recommended activities, suitable dining times, and quickly responded to all our inquiries regarding our room and facilities, no matter how big or small. Her handling of everything was thorough and reliable, and she was always available when we needed her, allowing our family to fully relax and enjoy our holiday. Her genuine and warm service truly enhanced our family trip, and we're very grateful.

Staying at Club Med Mediterranean, the three meals were delightful and varied. Kids had a blast at the Adventure Park, full of energy on the non-motorized climbing structures, and enjoyed fun water activities like kayaking and water bikes. Attentive and thoughtful service accompanied us throughout our stay. What was particularly heartwarming was the careful reminders from staff even before check-in, and the warmth we felt everywhere after checking in. The entire trip was relaxing and leisurely, a truly healing and wonderful vacation.
