Where are the 6 stars? We have booked a short-term rebooking and thus done everything right. Booked with a host and departed as friends. The very hearty host Didi and his lovely wife Goy have provided us with all information around the island, food excursions and great beaches as if we were his guests for years. Breakfast was top and always fresh made. The rooms were top clean and it was all available what you needed and if you needed something then it was no problem to get. The roller drive was also easy even if it was on the left side. About, We're extremely happy to come back!!!
We have visited and reviewed The Datai many times and the fact that we continue to come back year after year despite the very long journey speaks volumes. The setting is stunning and the staff are excellent, very friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were happy to chill out and relax surrounded by nature. We have visited many super properties in other countries and enjoyed them very much but The Datai ticks all the boxes for us and feels like our idea of paradise! Over the years we have stayed in most room categories and they are all great but our favourite is a Rainforest Pool Villa. Relaxing in the pool watching the monkeys, birds and butterflies whilst listening to the sounds of the forest and the stream is just sublime. We visited in April and were prepared for rain as the dry season has ended but we had beautiful sunny weather for the vast majority of our 10 day stay. We had 3 days with rain in the late afternoon/early evening but these passed quickly. At this time of the year a lot of flowers are in bloom and many trees are in fruit thus attracting more wildlife. We thoroughly recommend the Spa and enjoyed massages during one of the rain showers which added to the relaxation! The Datai is the most eco friendly hotel we have ever been to and a visit to ‘The Lab’ is well worthwhile and educational as well as fun! We also ‘learned how to be naturalists’ at the Nature Centre and placed hidden cameras in the forest to help monitor the behaviour of the wildlife. This was a fascinating experience and well worth doing! There are many other things to enjoy but we just stuck to our lovely pool and ventured out mainly to eat. We didn’t even go to the beautiful beach at all! The food was great everywhere we ate and if the hotel is busy the Beach Club is a great, peaceful alternative for breakfast although it is just ‘a la carte’ with no buffet option. As every year some old friends amongst the staff have left and we miss them, but new stars always emerge! Thanks to everyone but we must mention Yoon, Azmir, Edy, Gunawan, Shaiful, Izzie, Amelia, Wendy and the legendary Sivagaran!
A modern oasis from which to explore the island. We toured Langkawi and this was our last hotel. Very handy for the airport and over a row of good shops - pharmacy, convenience stores and fast food KFC and Tealive. Also close to the best supermarket we'd found on the island ( didn't explore Kuah). Not the first one, that's a very hot shed beyond my ability to explore!) Staff friendly and the restaurant great for breakfast and dinner. A lovely pool on the roof ( we didn't actually use it as we were only there one day). Also a bar with a little library to exchange your holiday reading. Comfy beds, small room (ours) but clever use of space. There is car parking.

My stay at the St. Regis Langkawi was underwhelming. Despite the high price tag, the room was average at best, with outdated decor and amenities. The service was lacking, with slow response times and a lack of attention to detail. I arrived with my guests for a short 3 days 2 nights getaway. It started when we arrived we were told the hotel is experiencing high occupancy and was told to wait till it was past check-in time for check in. We were also told to check daily with the concierge to see if we could get a late checkout. We booked 3 rooms but in the end only 2 were granted the request. I was told to wait at a meeting room while waiting for my guests from the other 2 rooms which I rejected. After repeated requests with the concierge the manager stepped in and put us at another room with default while waiting for our guests. The breakfast staffs were excellent and prompt in delivering world class service. However the dining options were overpriced and the overall atmosphere felt impersonal. I expected more from a luxury hotel like the St. Regis, but unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations. I told the manager that I might not consider St Regis Langkawi again.

We arrived early at the hotel and the weather was awful (raining). We we’re extremely tired and we had to wait for the rain to finish in order to be able to go out for a walk. The staff at the reception were excellent.I have been travelling a lot and I have been using Mercure often but I have never met such an amazing and professional customer service. The check in time was at 15:00 and the asked to wait in the lobby, they offered us a coffee and they managed to check us in at 11:00! Always with a great smile in their face.Ziela and Djarhul (apologies if I do not pronounce it correctly) and also the gentleman at the reception who brought our luggage in the room were so nice.Congatulations to Accor hotels (Mercure) for their excellent staff. The above employees made us feel very special and I would like to thank them For their support and help.Really 5 stars customer service
A Truly Magical Experience – Beyond Expectations!
I recently stayed at Berjaya Resort Langkawi, and I have to say it was one of the most magical and memorable experiences ever! I initially booked the *Rainforest Chalet*, but when I arrived at the hotel with my kids, something extraordinary happened. As I was getting ready to be transferred to the chalet, the assistant manager, Hafi (if I’m not mistaken), stopped the buggy and personally told me that they had decided to upgrade me to the **Premier Chalet on Water**. He mentioned that after seeing me check in with my children, they thought the Rainforest Chalet might not be as comfortable for us. I was completely speechless! The staff’s thoughtfulness and kindness made me feel so welcome and special, like I was being treated like family.
What made this even more amazing was that I had only booked the room two hours before check-in via Trip.com, and requested a small anniversary celebration. I didn’t expect much given the short notice, but to my surprise, the staff went out of their way to decorate the room beautifully with towel and bed decor that made the occasion so much more special. I couldn’t believe how efficient and sweet they were in such a short time!
What really stood out was the personal WhatsApp message I received from Ira (the guest service team) after check-in. She provided all the menus from the hotel restaurants and a list of activities around Langkawi, including night market schedule around the town! As someone who also works in the hotel industry, I think all hotels should adopt this approach. It keeps guests well-informed and makes them feel truly appreciated and connected throughout their stay. This small gesture made me feel like I had everything I needed at my fingertips!
From the bottom of my heart, thank you Berjaya Resort Langkawi, I cannot recommend them enough. From the warm welcome to the magical moments they created, this was an experience that my family and I will cherish forever. If you’re looking for a place where you’ll be treated with care, thoughtfulness, and personal attention, this is it!

Had a fabulous 3D2N stay with my family at the Park Royal Langkawi Resort. Staff were friendly and attended to our needs promptly with a smile. Breakfast buffet spread was excellent and our room was clean, cosy and my daughter loved it.
See you next time! :)

The room was spotless, spacious with every amenity I could need for a comfortable stay. I especially appreciated the room balcony with stunning view of sunrise.🌅 Overall, Resorts World Langkawi exceeded all my expectations. Whether you’re traveling for business or leisure, this hotel is a gem. I can’t wait to return for another fantastic experience.

I like the food for breakfast. The buffet spread is good.
The room is very spacious. However there are 2 mirrors in the toilet but no mirror outside toilet.
So everytime i got to go to the toilet just to get ready.
I dont like the idea of the wardrobe in the toilet.
The window blind in the toilet is redundant. I wish the window in the toilet is covered totally so that we dont have to worry anyone peeping when we take shower.
The shower area is quite dark. There should be light at the shower area.
The whole resort is beautiful and feels relaxing.
I hope the management can do something about the mirror, window in toilet and the light in shower area.
Thank you.
By the way, i gave feedback on a piece of paper and gave it to reception when I checkout.

Sadly, this looks like a place that desperately needs renovation. It looks quite neglected, from walls screaming for new paint, to torn bedsheets, to broken pipes in the bathroom leaking water.
Also, some things are not as advertised in their profile. There is no 24 hour front desk - in fact, check in is very simple, you come to a desk, and find the key with the sticker with your name on it (it would be nice if they informed guests about this).
Also, there is no hot water in the bathroom (even if room description claims otherwise), nor electric kettle in the room.
There was also no toilet paper, but after i sent them an email about it (remember, no 24 hour front desk), they brought a roll with an apology.
They were nice enough to extend my check out for an hour. But more than just being flexible, i think their business would improve if they invested more into maintenance of the place.

JJosh UddinThe Danna was an experience, a must stay if you're planning on visiting Langkawi.
The staff were so amazing and the hotel was immaculate including the level of service you receive.
My only negative point is the location, it's a little far out for those who want to explore the island. But perfect if you just wanna use the hotel and it's facilities.
GGuest UserThe best way to describe this hotel is, a 3-star hotel with a 4-5 star resort personality and quality :) While searching online prior to booking, I found that it is 3-star and boutique level (I have learned in the past during my few stays in LGK, 3-star on actual site is often actually 2-star and less) which admittedly, already sealed my expectations but I was banking on it being revamped and newly launched few months ago so worth a check-out. While the front facade is newly painted and looks like a shop lot converted hotel, my oh my, the moment you enter the Reception area, everything is so well designed and nowhere near its first impression - and the Bayou was definitely being sneaky on me with its amazing pool backyard view! Room was great and as aesthetically pleasing as advertised, breakfast was a good spread and staff was superbly friendly. It felt like we were in a resort hotel in spite of its location. Another thing that I enjoy here is the openness of the Lobby area with ample seating areas, separated by flexible sliding glass doors which made the area more spacious than it actually is - the design is very clever. This wild card was definitely worth it!

GGuest UserOne of the best places to stay in Langkawi, definitely will stay again if we ever return. Room was Instagram worthy. The pool was warm, refreshing and regularly cleaned. Great location right on the Cenang beach strip. Right across from the aquarium and within short walking distance of the beach and many good local restaurants. However the hotels layout gives you a nice reprieve from the hustle and bustle of the main strip. Housekeeping was 10/10 — refreshments, beverages and toiletries were replenished daily. New towels are provided if you leave the old on the floor, and new linens are provided upon request.

CCameo19The room was spacious with a lovely view, and the bed was comfortable. However, it certainly didn’t look like a new hotel that’s been open for 12 months. The flooring, wardrobes and bathroom were tarnished and looked cheap. The grouting was yellow. However, it was still a relatively pleasant experience, albeit below expectations. Breakfast was standard, nothing special. Pool area was really lovely. Location is a strange one, a few minutes away from the beach, however it’s pretty quite around hotel. Also I was confronted by a pack of stray dogs about 150m from hotel, which put a damper on my stay. The lively town was 1.2 miles away.

MMoulai ibtissemGood hotel in general, nice breakfast, private island where you can find peace and relax atmosphere, the beach is nice but a lot of corail de side careful for your foot, the furniture is old a bit and the bathroom was dirty feeling even it’s clean because of old mirror and old toilet, the air is pure so you. An full you lungs with fresh air cause no car no pollution, you can do hacking try a an atv car to see the island, rent bicycle, kayak and so …the stuff are very friendly and nice. Good stay in general.
GGuest UserI was here during LIMA 2023. Near to airport. Save time and transport cost by walking to exhibition hall. The best stay ever! The environment was pleasant and welcoming. Both check in and out were professionally handled and easy. I loved the Wings Afternoon Tea at the Wings Lounge& Jazz. It's really cosy and relaxing after spending hours in LIMA hall. I can even watch spectacular scene's of flights cruising through the viewing deck. And of course I enjoyed the most my drinks by the pool bar. I would definitely recommend this luxury resort in Langkawi to my family and friends in USA.
FFiyrahWas a surprise vacay for my mom and she fell in love with it. Located so close to the beach. Even had a welcome drink. A front desk staff name, Heli, I think, served us well. Assisted us throughout when we had questions. And other staff were very initiative that they served us without being asked. Breakfast by the beach was my favourite. Planning to visit Camar Resort again. No words can describe how satisfied my stay was.

IIpohiteWonderful hospitality started at the reception. I would like to commend a frontline staff En Latif who made my day by being so professional in his service. To my surprise, the room was so spacious and clean. Breakfast was good enough for the price paid. Located in town centre made it accessible to most duty free shopping. Grab service was easy. Would definitely recommend to my friends

GGuest UserCheck in was smooth since we arrived quite late. We call in advance to inform our eta arrival later than expected due to flight delayed. We got bee building facing the sea. Everything inside the room is clean. Tv channel have astro. Malibest is well known for its location, in the middle busy street Chenang and its hospitality and well clean room! So far it meet my expectation. Just one thing, the hotel parking too limited. Overall, this place will be my favourite place to stay in langkawi sith affordable price.

TTomeKaraDayang Bay Resort is a mid-range accommodation option in Langkawi, popular for its stunning views, comfortable rooms, and strategic location close to Kuah Town. It offers a balance between affordability and comfort, making it a suitable choice for families, couples, and solo travelers.
Pros:
Excellent Location: Situated close to Kuah Town, it’s convenient for shopping, dining, and exploring Langkawi’s local culture. The view of the Andaman Sea from the resort is one of its biggest attractions.
Spacious Rooms: Guests often praise the spaciousness of the rooms, particularly the suites that come with kitchenettes, making it a great option for families or those looking for longer stays.
Infinity Pool: The resort boasts a large infinity pool with a view over the sea, which is a highlight for many guests who enjoy lounging and taking in the serene surroundings.
Friendly Staff: The staff at Dayang Bay are frequently mentioned for their friendliness and helpful service, adding to the overall positive experience for most visitors.
Cons:
Aging Facilities: Some visitors have commented that the facilities, while functional, are starting to show signs of wear and tear. Updates and maintenance could improve the overall appeal of the resort.
Limited Dining Options: While the breakfast is satisfactory, some guests find the dining options at the resort limited, suggesting that it may be better to explore the town for more variety.
Noise from Nearby Construction: There have been occasional complaints about construction noise from surrounding areas, though this depends on the time of year and the specific room location.
Overall: Dayang Bay Resort offers a great balance between comfort and affordability, especially for families. The rooms are spacious, and the infinity pool with its sea views is a big plus. Some minor upgrades to the facilities and more diverse dining options would elevate the experience further. For those seeking a peaceful stay close to Kuah Town without breaking the bank, it’s a solid choice.
