A friend of ours booked us this place to stay for 6 nights from the 10-16 Sep 2023 after viewing it on the internet and reading some amazing reviews. We arrived there after spending a week in beautiful up country in Sri Lanka coming from overseas for a little holiday and was looking for a similar comfort we experienced in Nuwaraeliya & Hatton properties from Highbury Colombo. To our surprise this property was far from what the reviews say and is lacking in very vital matters. For starters the stairway is so insecure and very steep, the room that we had booked was very average,poor maintenance and can hardly call resort style living. There are mosquitoes roaming everywhere. If anyone is suffering from knee problems I strongly recommend not to book this. Since my friend has already paid for the full 6 days, the lady in charge was reluctant to budge from refunding any amount after we mentioned that we no longer want to stay there.. It's very unfortunate that the location of this property is very good yet the quality is far from resort style.

Reserved a room for 02 for 6 days in September 23. On arrival we were taken up two flights of narrow stairs to a room that had bed sheets which were not clean. The toilet too was not clean. Mentioned to the hostess that it was not possible to haul the large travel bags up the stairs and also that the climb was not good for guest who had a knee issue. Also realized the place was infested with mosquitos and dengue was widespread in Colombo. Had to move to a different hotel for the stay. The host refused to refund, despite the explanation about the climb, bad house keeping and mosquitos. Booked after reading the reviews and would caution travelers to be careful. The worst experience in all our travels/bookings. Cannot recommend Highbury Colombo.

We couldnt think of a better place to arrive after having an exhausting flight and a slight cultural shock. The hosts are incredibly friendly and helpful and the breakfast is among the best we have enjoyed throughout our travels in Sri Lanka! And yes, the house is as beautiful as on the picture :)

I stayed here solo when I visited 7 years ago. The rooms are so comfortable and clean and the hospitality has not changed. Will always be my go to when visiting Columbo. Make sure you get the breakfast!

This is a very nice private home in the middle of a beautiful and lushious garden, the house must be the work of a good architect full of elegant details and with nice art pieces and furniture. Our ac bedroom on the last floor was spacious and with a small terrace. The bathroom could do with some maintenance but we had a very good time in a welcoming and pleasant environment. The owners are polite and very kind people, the evening of our arrival they prepared a good dinner for us and the breakfast in the garden was a delight. The location is a bit away from the main "attractions", which isn't a big deal with the millions of Tuc Tucs around, but after a day of sightseeing in busy and chaotic Colombo we really appreciated the quiet of the house in the Highbury garden.

I booked with Highbury Colombo via *********** and cancelled the next day. They still have not refunded the monies they so quickly took from my account. They apologise for forgetting and then do not respond. Beware, do not deal with this hotel.

It has been a beautiful experience to arrive from Europe directly at this oasis of Colombo. An exeptional estethic place which is only the outer expression of the care, mindfulness and love in which the couple of the owners seem to life while touching the heart and mind of people passing through their place. A real discovery on all levels of hospitality. We arrived tiered and low and left refreshed, nourished and curious. If you look for a calm cozy and uplifting place with a personal touch, just go for it and enjoy!

Very bad room . Very small . Bad furniture. Bad smell . Dirty place . Bad smell in the bathroom and inside the room . Furniture is dirty we couldn’t . Mattress as well . Lizard inside the room and inside the bathroom. Not recommended at all . Bad decision

It’s was so wonderful to wake up in our beautifully appointed room and look out the window at the trees and surrounding neighborhood. Such a relaxing place to stay! The breakfast was a hit with my partner!
