I recently stayed at this La Quinta and had one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. I checked in late at night and was given a room that smelled strongly of cigarettes, even though I booked a non‑smoking room. I was moved to a second room, but it still had multiple issues: dirty and stained furniture, damaged walls, and a door that didn’t close or lock properly. As a woman traveling alone, this made me feel extremely unsafe.
Before I even reached my room, I was approached by multiple men inside the hotel, which added to the discomfort. The overall environment did not feel clean, secure, or welcoming.
On top of that, the bathroom didn’t even have a trash bin. So if you’re a woman traveling during your period, good luck managing basic hygiene. It’s unacceptable for a hotel to overlook something so essential.
When I went to the front desk, the staff acknowledged the issues and offered me a refund, but told me I needed to go through my third‑party booking (*******). When ******* contacted them to process the refund, the hotel declined the same refund they had just offered me. This is now being escalated because the conditions were unsafe, unsanitary, and not what was advertised.
I stayed only one night because it was already past midnight and I had no choice, but I checked out early the next morning. I would not recommend this location to anyone, especially solo travelers.
