I wrote a review August 2022, and found out later that they had suspended my account, and deleted my comment due to the fact that I was a month off 14. My family stayed at this hotel looking for a relaxing stop in our road trip. Upon arrival we were met with a friendly reception team, who swiftly showed us to our room, and brought our bags. The rooms were nice, with fully blackout curtains. Creating a isolated experience. That night we had dinner in the hotels restaurant, and soon found that they had a very short music playlist, lasting only 10 minutes until the same song repeated. This slowly but surely drive me and my family to the brink of insanity. Giving me and my sister headaches. For dinner my mother had caviar, the caviar came with 2 Bellinis, my mother requested more Bellinis as they had quickly disappeared, and upon request the waiter had to have a big discussion with the chef, then finally the chef agreed to make more. Five minutes later we were informed that the chef burnt the Bellinis, and he then refused to make any more, saying ‘only two blinis per caviar.’. This was not only a big inconvenience, but resulted in waste of our caviar. This being a spa hotel, unless you were having a massage or swimming in the pool. You soon found yourself with nothing to do. The only entertaining thing was a Pac-Man machine, which my family and I must’ve spent hours on. My family rented out the hotels salt pool, which was relaxing, but quite expensive for just an hour. To go into the main spa section, you had to be over 15, with me being under 15, I found myself stuck in the kid section, with a small pool and hot tub, which eventually got repetitive. If you are going to this hotel, I don’t recommend bringing anyone under the age of 15, as they will feel bored. Upon departure, the hotel said they would sign us up for an exclusive releáis chateaux club. For the inconvenience caused by the blini incident. It’s almost a year later and we still haven’t heard a word from them. In conclusion, I feel this was a big disappointment, and I am confused and annoyed as to why we haven’t heard anything about the releáis château club.

We love coming to this place for its calm location, its large and diversified spa and the good food. This is what you expect anyway when it's a Relais et Château. This time however, the rooms where noisy, the wifi was horrendously slow and disconnects all the time, and the worst was housekeeping. They skipped several times turn down, left kleenex boxes empty,... The other point we did not appreciate, is the half board system which only applies if you sleep the night before AND the night after the lunch, and, breakfast is not not included in it!? So you pay 3 nights half board and you only get 2 lunches?? Last disappointment was the crowd in the spa on Saturday as it was open for non hotel residents.

We really enjoyed our stay here at this charming hotel. The staff went out of their way to accommodate our group and make us feel welcome. The property has been newly renovated - the rooms are very nice, the food was great and the Spa was exceptional!

Fabulous relaxing spa. Multiple pools, hot tubs, splash pools and saunas. Very relaxed and relaxing. A little strange at first to see everyone just walking around in bath robes, but great that no dressing up needed for breakfast or lunch. Staff very helpful and has nature hikes. We did a 6 mile one, which was well marked and quite energetic, but great to get into the forest. Had a wonderful massage to follow. 2 restaurants. One gourmet, which was good food wise, but we felt a little pretentious. The other served just as good food with limited menu. We stayed 3 night sna only criticism is that the menu’s were not sufficiently varied that on 3rd night, we ate out. If you want luxury and relaxation, the perfect place.

Journée day spa.

We last stayed here in the 80/90s. At that time it was a small, beautiful, friendly hotel that left a mark in our minds. We vowed to return one day. As you would expect the hotel has grown considerably. If you want peace and quiet then this is the place for you. Colmar is within easy reach as is Kayserburg. The food is good. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

So, I needed to drive from Antwerp to Switzerland, and as I don’t like driving too many hours, I deceived to take a pitstop 2/3 on the way. All very last minute, so I googled a bit, and found this wellness hotel. It’s all about wellness and relaxing here, so that’s what I needed! Booked and arrived a day later. Smooth check in. Headed to the wellness. Very cosy, not too big, very nice. All couples of course, I was the only single traveller. About the room: ( I was in room 13, they are not superstitious here 😉) room was very up to date, smart use of domotica, nice design! Loved to have a balcony. There was a professional nespresso machine on the room, but I’m a tea drinker. Did not find a watercooker, tried to make tea with the coffee machine, but that did not work out. Or I was to clumsy, or the coffee machine hates tea ( which would make sense ofcourse). But, no worries about that. One minor thing about the room tough: the humming sound of the mini bar… once you hear it, it’s impossible to unhear it and it kept me awake. Eventually I paired my phone with the speaker in the room and played some very soft music so I couldn’t hear the fridge anymore. There is a solution to everything 😉. Restaurant : this hotel has one fine dining restaurant. I don’t always like having dinner in an upscale restaurant by myself, but I was on a trip by myself, so no other option. But I was welcomed and hosted to my table by the very, very handsome Maitre and I felt at ease after a second (think his name was Benjamin, but not sure. Whatever, if you see a man with dark hair, short beard, gorgeous eyes and a smile to kill for: that’s him!). To be honest, I visit fine dining restaurants often, but never would I have expected such a large crew for this place! A lot of waiters does not necessarily mean things go good. But in this case… a big “equippe” and everybody knew exactly what they were doing ( or at least, from the clients point of view). Was very nice to see. The food: excellent! The trout was so pink, I thought it was salmon.. Never had pink trout so nicely. The main: glazed pork. I need to go back for that. Sooooooo good. And that sauce! Man, I rarely eat bread, but I used it to soak every drop of sauce that was left on my plate. Dessert: perfect. I had a perfect evening by myself, loved it! Bar: cant comment on that, when I was there there was a temporary bar, as they are constructing a new one. Will look very nice I think! (By the way:construction did not interfere with the atmosphere in the hotel. I never heard it)

We just spent 2 days at this amazing hotel and spa and it was our 4 or 5 time and it continues to get better every time. They have completed a renovation of most of the common areas of the restaurant and bar to make the atmosphere to be very chic and classy. We arrived and were greeted by the friendliest front desk staff, Hugo. He informed us that we had arrived 1 day sooner than expected. It was a nice treat because he found us a room, and we stayed for an extra night (a bonus for us!). It allowed us to enjoy the spa facilities and eat in both the Gourmet restaurant and bar restaurant. The service, staff and atmosphere are 5-star all around. They are welcoming, pleasant, and accommodating for someone who speaks very little French. All the staff was very accommodating in helping me find my way through by speaking to me in English whenever possible. My husband speaks French and he would translate when needed, but they went out of their way to speak to me in English. We ate at the gourmet restaurant on our second night and it did not disappoint. The service was top-notch, the food was delish and presented as a piece of art and tasted even better than expected. We took the Fromage (cheese) as our dessert and it was all from local cheese artisans and did not disappoint. We loved the butter knife so much that our wonderful server, Quentin, went out of his way to find out the name of it. He also was such an attentive server that he made sure that all of our needs were met without question. We love the La Cheneaudiere as a home away from home when we visit family in France. It is our couple of night get away that makes our trip, truly a vacation! THANK YOU, HUGO for taking such good care of us. We really appreciated your special touch of making us feel so welcomed!

This was our first visit to the hotel - but it certainly won't be our last! The setting is lovely - quiet and relaxed with lots of good paths for walking. The spa was a real treat - a number of jets on the 2nd of three floors seem to hit all the right places to come out really relaxed. The mix between indoor and outdoor spa compoents and the lighting throughout the property is unusual but almost magical. The 3 course meal was outstanding - I had the daily fish choice - sea bass with cabbage and sauerkraut. One of the best sea bass I have ever had! The breakfast was also excellent. All in all, an excellent stay in a beautiful place.
