There was no service throughout the trip, and the keys were placed in a box for self-collection. The ski base is nothing special in summer. It is far from the town center and inconvenient

The hotel was very peaceful, with comfortable rooms and excellent amenities such as the coffee and hot tub. The on-site staff member, Rowan, was friendly and a pleasure to deal with. We would gladly stay again!

Beautiful lodge at the top of a hill. Room was super clean, spacious and the bed/pillows were super comfy. The floors in the bathroom were even heated! Since I went in the off-season, I didn’t see another soul at the lodge but the instructions to get in and find my room were clear.

Location: 13 km from town up a paved mountain road. One restaurant in another lodge opens at 5 PM Th-Su. There is another restaurant in another nearby lodge. The nearby gondola is out of order. The ski lift it $42 per person. At the top there is an enclosed live grizzly bear. Hotel: The parking lot is gravel with some mud. There are many weeds in the area around the hotel. One set of stairs to the front door is steep, the other set does not have bannisters. You need a code you should have received to open the front door. We did not get the code. The outside deck is sorely in need of sanding and painting. There are about ten rooms on two floors, No elevator. The common area/lobby is nice with hardwood floors, fireplace, couches, and one long common breakfast table. There is no pool or business center. There is a sauna and hot tub. Breakfast is Continental. Well supplied. Internet is fast at 115.99 Mbps. Nevertheles, the TV picture froze and paused during shows for short periods. Room: We had a large king size room. The bed headboard was about 20 feet from the TV. The room needs a larger TV. The TV remote operation was a puzzle. The mattress was good. There was no desk. The two "modern" chairs were uncomfortable and did not fit the decor. The rest of the furniture was nice with a beautiful carved armoire. There was a big deck with two chairs and a table. Mosquitos prevented enjoyment of the deck facing the woods. The bathroom was a good size, but there was very little counter space. The sink was free hanging with no counter. The towels, tissues and toilet paper were high quality. Staff: The young man on staff was personable and pleasant.

This hotel is in kicking horse mountain resort, not Golden, this may leave you a bit limited with food choices off season. Access is by stairs, avoid if this is an issue for you. Had a lovely welcome from the guy running the place, really thorough. The room was beautiful, the shared spaces are lovely. The hot tub was very welcome. Breakfast was continental style but had what we needed and was relaxed. Restaurant next door was a bonus.

The location of the hotel is definitely a plus—peaceful and close to nature—and the room itself was decent, though it lacked air conditioning, which made it uncomfortable in warm weather. Unfortunately, the check-in experience was frustrating. The reception closes at 7 PM, which is not clearly communicated. When I arrived after that time, there were no instructions provided on how to get inside or where to find my room key. The entrance door required a code I never received. I had to knock repeatedly until another guest helped me get in. This kind of stress on arrival is unacceptable, especially at this price point. Breakfast was also very disappointing. It was advertised as included, but what was provided was extremely minimal—definitely not up to the standard you’d expect for paying around CAD 500 per night. I even saw a guest bringing their own eggs and cream cheese, which says a lot about what was missing. Overall, this hotel has potential with its location and quiet atmosphere, but the lack of proper communication, poor breakfast offering, and absence of basic amenities like air conditioning made the stay underwhelming.

This lodge was quaint and quiet. It was beautiful, and we loved it. There is a small hot tub and a small sauna, which we enjoyed with our 2 boys (ages 10 and 12). The room was comfortable with a nice sized balcony, and we loved the Nespresso in the room! The shared area was spacious, clean, and had lots of comfortable seating for all to enjoy. The decor is beautiful, and the location is only a quick walk to the ski hill, where Peaks Grill is open for meals and drinks. There is another restaurant just a few steps away (The Jeffrey Room), which has great reviews but we didn't make it there. Next time, we will check it out. I would most certainly stay here again.
