Holiday Inn COLUMBUS DWTN-CAPITOL SQUARE by IHG

Very nice, though a bit dated. The hotel was an easy walk to Nationwide Arena, which was our ultimate destination. Very close to the majority of breweries, restaurants and night life in the "Arena District ". About a 10-15 walk. The employees at the hotel were all extremely nice and helpful. Only complaint was that the room we were in, which I am sure is the same as others, had no updated plugs for charging phones. While that was inconvenient it wasn't a deal breaker in my mind. Good parking($12) and a safe area to be in.

This is a good location, the room was clean, nice view of the city. There was a restaurant down stairs that had some really good burgers & breakfast was $9.99 per person, the breakfast was good, convenient and there was a nice variety to choose from. Heated pool was a plus. We stayed here for a graduation. Only 13 min from the airport. I would stay again

The staff were very helpful. The coffee maker in the room did not work but I told the desk clerk this when checking out.

The only thing I disliked was that the beds were harder than what I’m used to. But besides that it was a great choice for our stay!

This hotel has awful customer service. We booked this hotel for a concert that was happening in Columbus since we were not from here. When we arrived at check in time, 4pm, we were told that our room was not ready and that they would call us when it was. When we tried to check in on the status an hour later at 5pm we were told that the room would not be ready until after we would need to leave for the concert. When I called the next day about the situation the lady on the phone was extremely rude and kept questioning me about how many times I tried to check in, and told me that sometimes rooms just aren’t ready until 5 even though check in is listed at 4, as if it were my fault for the room not being ready. They never apologized or took accountability for a clear mistake on their behalf. I would not recommend this hotel for anyone who is traveling in for an event because MANY rooms were not ready until well after 5pm. Save yourself the trouble and book any other hotel in the area.

The check in experience was absolutely horrible. We waited for 2.5 hours AFTER our check in time to finally be given a room. The lobby was full of other guests also waiting.
