Stoney Porch Guest Cabin

Dan and Kathy were excellent hosts and definitely went the extra mile to make our stay enjoyable. The cabin was clean, had all the comforts of home, including a full size kitchen and was beautifully appointed. The location was in the beautiful hill country of Texas and was located close to many activities for all age groups. It was a perfect get away for two to enjoy the quiet country setting, but close enough to travel to other hill country towns or to San Antonio. We look forward to returning one day.

Kathi & Dan were awesome hosts and very friendly. We really enjoyed our 5-night stay (regretted not staying the week) and would not hesitate to go again in the future. Their location was ideal for nearby attractions and those in San Antonio. Really enjoyed relaxing at the overlook with a glass of wine while watching the deer.We would recommend Stoney Porch to anyone seeking a relaxing time.

Great get away spot. In a great location within 30 minutes from Nee Braunfels & SanAntonio. We would highly recommend. The owners really have the cabin stocked with everything you need. You could stay & never have to leave.

Was very cute, parts were clean and others were dusty and large cob webs. Everything that needed to be clean, was clean. We had to leave early because of two reasons. 1. Ours eyes were burning and our throats were irritated, still a couple of days later. We likened it to when you go into a new box store or a huge flooring store, like when product is off gasing? So maybe they had new floors or had recently sprayed? We could not stay. I’m suffering from mold toxicity and my husband’s throat was partially closed. 2. We could not get comfortable. The couch was small and its back made it so all you could do was sit upright. Other seating was not good. Some ottomans would have helped greatly. The bed was comfortable but too small. I’m 5’2, husband 6’5 and we were crammed together. It truly had everything you could need or want and could tell a lot of love was in it. Truly, a different couch, maybe a love seat recliner or ottomans, and not sure what caused our eyes and throat issues. Could have lived with the bed. The gentleman was so nice. Never got to meet either of them though. Wish we could have finished our stay or been offered a refund for one night that we couldn’t be there. Really wish we could have finished our stay. My only suggestion is bring some comfortable lawn chairs and enjoy the place! Maybe our systems are just too toxic at the moment we are sensitive to something that most no one else is. This place is a gem in all honesty. If you want peace, this is the place.

Perfect cabin for a quiet retreat The property was exactly as advertised and a great place to spend a weekend! The back porch was a peaceful spot to watch the deer each morning and evening.

If there were a 10 star rating, this place and their owners deserve it. The attention to detail, and the respect and love of nature - as well, as the kindness and attentiveness of the owners are the best I’ve experienced in a Vrbo rental. We will definitely be coming back. If you’ve never visited the “Hill Country” of TX, this is a great base to explore, get advice/suggestions of restaurants/attractions…it would have been an awesome trip had we not left the cabin! Deer, birds, every morning and at sunset, there is something to see. I’ve lived and traveled all over the Americas, and this is now one of my favorite places. We will be coming back!
