Just returned from an amazing week's holiday. The most relaxing holiday I've had in years. I was slightly apprehensive as I had booked the standard 2 bedroom apartment with large balcony and heard that these apartments were a little dated. We stayed in room 218. The apartment was spotless, spacious, huge bathroom and walk in shower. Yes the kitchen and furniture were brown (exactly the same as mine at home) ! but had everything we needed including a large fridge. Arrived about 6 30pm and the curtains were closed. Pulled them open to be greeted with the biggest balcony we've ever had. See pics , the view was absolutely stunning. The location was great for us. We would walk in the morning, steep hill down and usually get a 5 euro taxi back up. None of us have mobility problems but that hill is not affectionately called cardiac hill for nothing. Small supermarket and launderette attached to the hotel and Lidl within walking distance (not too steep to walk there). We went half board, breakfast was great , loads of choice, dinner was also good but it was nice to go out for a change too. Lovely Italian at the end of the street. All the staff were really lovely, would definitely return to Royal Sun and would not hesitate to ask for the same room. No rush for sunbeds by the pool either but maybe that's because it was January and term time?

Let’s address the current situation. After we booked the hotel TUI told us there were going to be works outside the hotel. As we were looking to have a relaxing hotel holiday based around the hotel we contacted the hotel and they assured us disruption would be kept to a minimum. They were right. We had a smaller transfer bus to the hotel so that drop off was just a few meters away from the reception. There was a bit of noise but nothing to really bother us. Ultimately this situation is temporary and will end soon. The hotel is fantastic. Our luxury apartment with hot tub was fully equipped and had amazing views over Los Gigantes. We were staying half board and food options for both meals were superb with great choice. One of our party is gluten intolerant and the chef was able help with food options. Nothing was ever any bother for the team. The room was cleaned every day we requested and the hotel always looks very clean and tidy. If I’m being picky, the shower did leak on to the floor. The location of the hotel is half way up a hill. On those hot days it can be a hard walking back up, but not unmanageable. If you don’t fancy the walk you can jump in a taxi. We definitely want to return to the hotel and spend more time exploring the beautiful island.

The reviews were generally good for this hotel so I was looking forward to arriving. Overall my daughter and I had a really lovely stay. The positives: Stunning views! Really beautiful views of the cliffs from our room, from the restaurant and the pool. One of the best views I can remember from any hotel. The food was really great, plenty of healthy pescatarian variety to keep me happy, and my daughter was also delighted with the churros for breakfast, and great options for dinner. The half board was great value. We also ate lunch at the pool one day which was good and reasonably priced as were the drinks which weren’t included. The room was massive!! It was very clean and comfortable and the balcony and sun loungers were a treat. Staff were very friendly and accommodated our awkward departure time by offering use of public showers and luggage room. The negatives: It was a really bad first impression to be charged for using the safe. After a long journey I felt like we were immediately being stung for extras. Surely better to increase your prices by the €3 per night instead! The roadworks outside meant everything didn’t look very nice around the hotel. Can’t be helped though and the noise really wasn’t a problem at all. The room is quite dated with old looking woodwork in the kitchenette and the (paid for) safe broke and the fridge hummed loudly. However this really didn’t spoil our stay at all, we had a fantastic time and would definitely return. Ps local buses were excellent and allowed us easy travel for day trips. We like walking so weren’t too bothered by the climb from the village.

This is our fourth visit to the Royal Sun, and once again it did not disappoint. From the moment we checked in, to checking out, everything was superb. Friendly and helpful staff who are always there to help. The food, both at breakfast and evening meal is superb. Plenty of choice, and excellent quality. Overall another wonderful holiday and we are returning in July for another great time. We'll done to everyone.

Royal Sun Resort has the most spacious apartments, a wonderful building with incredible views, but most important very friendly employees. Waiters in the restaurant, the cleaning ladies, receptionists, everybody is doing their best to make you feel welcome. Because of all this we experienced unforgettable holidays.

We spent a month staying at the Royal Sun and absolutely loved it and already going back next year. The apartment was very spacious, had everything we needed, cleaned every day and amazing sea views. We stayed bed and breakfast and there were some great food options locally. The balconies are huge and all overlook the sea and provide a great view of daily sunsets. All the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The hotel has good gym facilities which help keep up with our exercise routine.

We had an excellent stay at the Royal Sun last week. We stayed in a standard room with our eight month old baby. Yes it was slightly dated but the facilities were fantastic for us and it was immaculately clean the entire stay. You would be hard pushed to find a room as big for the price. Beds were comfy and we had no issues with noise. The balcony is the stand out though. It is huge - enough room for four sun beds and a dining table with breathtaking views over Los Gigantes. The pool areas were clean and very quiet with regular entertainment provided through the day. The food was excellent both breakfast and dinner with ample choice for all. It does have a slightly smaller selection than we are used to at bigger hotels but what is there is lovely. The staff at the restaurant are very friendly and attentive. Los Gigantes is quite quiet but a lovely place to relax. Lidl is about a 10 min walk from the hotel which is great. There is also a bus stop across the road from Lidl which is handy for travelling to other parts of the island. The hotel is at the top of a hill but this isn’t really an issue. There is are some road works being carried out in front of the hotel which we were warned about prior to arriving but to be honest the noise was minimal and it did not cause us any inconvenience. We had a fantastic stay and would definitely stay again in future. Ignore any negative reviews - I can only assume these people are extremely picky! This hotel is excellent value for money.

An amazing hotel. The hotel is fabulous with amazing views over the town, harbour and ocean. The staff were very friendly and ensured we had everything we needed. The food was delicious. We planned to eat out a few times but didn’t because we enjoyed the hotels food so much. I could not recommend this hotel more. Absolutely amazing holiday from start to finish.

Third time to this lovely hotel ,we were warned before hand about the roadworks outside hotel and TUI offered us alternative accommodation but I’m glad we decided to stay at the hotel the noise level was very low and the workmen very polite I would gladly go back again ,the hotel staff are all very polite ,the rooms are very clean and by far the biggest rooms I’ve ever been in and the views from your balcony are breathtaking esp at night when the sun goes down .The only thing that is slightly disappointing is the lack of entertainment at night which might not suit everyone the many years travelling to Tenerife this is probably the best hotel experience we have had and the only hotel we have stayed multiple times
