We absolutely lived the location! It was only a few blocks from the beach, but not right on Ashford so it was quieter. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the hotel has a spot at the beach with chairs and umbrellas free to use (just show your room card and give them your room number - the stand has Holiday Inn Express, but they check in people from a few different hotels). We were in the second tower (not the one with the restaurant/reception/pool). While it had a balcony, it was on a lower floor and there was still some construction happening. However, the balcony was great for drying things off. The rooms are set very cold but we could easily adjust the thermostat. We loved having a mini-fridge and so many hooks to hang all of our things. A couple things to note: the road south of the hotel floods from the Lagoon during high tide, so we just made a note at night to walk down Calle Clemenceau; and the entrance to the the main tower from the second tower is locked between 10pm and 10am, so it was a little annoying to have to walk around to the front entrance to grab towels for the beach (it would also feel a little more secure if the entrance to the second tower required a room key after hours, since you could easily walk up the atrium area between the buildings from the sidewalk and enter). They seem to still be setting up the entrance area of the second tower, so some of that might change. You get a $25/day credit towards the hotel restauarant and while we used it for drinks one night, the rest of the time we used it to get bottles of water for the day. We had a great time!
