D'Angleterre, Copenhagen

The Hotel D’Angleterre was a wonderful place to stay on our recent visit to Copenhagen. The staff there and the city itself were very welcoming and friendly. The rooms were beautiful, spacious and clean. The convenient location on Kongens Nytorv could not be better—we were able to walk to wonderful restaurants, shopping, Nyhavn, and many of Copenhagen’s sights. We thoroughly enjoyed the dining and overall atmosphere of the hotel. From the champagne bar to the spa, the ambiance was both elegant and inviting. Hotel d’Angleterre was an excellent experience and exactly what a five-star hotel should be. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it.

This is the best hotel I have very stayed in. It is old but renovated and well maintained. The location is perfect. I wasn’t bothered by noise though there is a little from nearby nightlife. I attribute the quality of our stay to the staff, I felt every staff member was devoted to my comfort without being intrusive or servile. They were also very nice to us. Only you can say that the price is worth it, though this is the best hotel in Copenhagen and its cost is considerably lower than “the best” hotels in Paris or London, for example, say $1500/night versus $2500/night. We enjoyed our stay and if you can afford it I recommend it, especially for a first visit when you don’t know the city.

Having stayed in Copenhagen before at the Outstanding Nimb Hotel, I was not expecting two exceptional hotels within blocks of each other. The staff and service at D’Angleterre was outstanding. We arrived to our deluxe room with an amazing view to find that the cigar smell from a previous guest (probably using the adorable balcony) was a bit too intense for my husband. They quickly moved us to a second room without hesitation. Breakfast was sublime, again the staff went above and beyond. I woke early and did not want to disturb my husband by making coffee in the room so I went downstairs. Nothing was open, but the assistant manager kindly brought me out coffee from the closed restaurant (it was 6:30 am). If you do stay on the top floor, make sure you get a room where you can see the fireworks from the Tivoli Gardens on Saturday evening. The room, turn down service, bedding and plush robes were everything you can expect from a FIVE STAR LUXURY HOTEL! Well done!

The outside is beautiful!The location and dining service is excellent! The standard Superior rooms at $1300.00 per night in mid summer are highway robbery. When I checked in I was told there were no upgrades available form my Amex Platinum Account and taken to a dark room so small it was claustrophobic. They offerd to get me a better Superior room and they did... but on a comparaative basis with other 5 star hotels it was still small for $11300.00 per night The included breakfast in the Cafe was pleasnt and the staff very helpful in getting dinner reservations and mapping out the town.Thank you. I had stayed there years before when the rooms had names and before the rennovation. It was better then!!!!!

My first visit was in 1974. I was happy to verify it stays as traditional and high end as always. We had a small suite as an upgrade for a Junior Suite. It consisted of a living room, a bedroom and bathroom. The three of small but comfortable size. AC and WIFI work well. The space for clothes was small and without a door to hide the content. Breakfast is served buffet style with a good choice of items. We did not dine in the nice restaurant. The pool and sauna very nice.

This hotel is top notch. My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights before our cruise. The service could not be any better. It is in a great location that we could walk to everywhere. Highly recommend.
