Located in the eastern-most edge of Cuneo Province, Barroero is must visit for anyone truly interested in the food culture and history of Piemonte. Guests will leave with a heightened appreciation for this precious Piemontese agricultural product. I've been coming here for nearly 27 years and this was such an eye-opener for us. We spent a little over an hour with Isabella touring the hazelnut and bakery facilities. We then sat down on the terrace next to one of the huge groves of hazelnut trees to enjoy a multi-course lunch Isabella prepared for us. This truly is a must visit either for a day trip to the high Langa or for an overnight in nature in one of Cascina Barroero's apartments high above the Bormida valley. Sidebar: If you have a special interest in sustainable farming and hospitality operations, this is a must visit.

Wir haben ein Mittagessen im Anschluss an eine Führung durch den Betrieb und die Haselnussplantagen gebucht. Das Essen mit Fokus auf die selbst hergestellten und veredelten Produkte war sehr gut. Die Führung gab einen gekonnten Einblick in die Verarbeitung von Haselnüssen.

Abbiamo prenotato una visita guidata nel noccioleto con pranzo e buffet di dolci a base di nocciole. La signora Isabella è stata veramente esaustiva nella spiegazione della nocciola e delle sue varie lavorazioni. Posto incantevole! Super consigliato

La cascina è completamente immersa nel verde e la strada per raggiungerla in auto, venendo dalla bassa Langa, non è stata facile in quanto sono vie piuttosto strette in mezzo ai boschi e ai vigneti. Per fortuna ne è valsa la pena. Abbiamo scelto la visita con pranzo al prezzo totale di 35 euro a persona. Matteo ci ha fatto fare il giro della struttura spiegandoci in modo semplice e chiaro tutto il processo di lavorazione delle nocciole, a partire dalla coltivazione fino alla cucina. Il pranzo, dall'antipasto al dolce, aveva come elemento base le nocciole ed è stato piacevole assaggiarle in varie forme, che si abbinavano sapientemente con il resto degli ingredienti. Alla fine della visita abbiamo acquistato alcuni loro prodotti: oltre alle nocciole, abbiamo apprezzato il miele di castagno di loro produzione.

Accolti da Camilla che ci ha fatto da guida nel mondo della nocciola con pranzo a seguire in terrazzo immersi nel verde. Mangiato pietanze con uso di nocciole e derivati, bevuto rosé del posto. Tutto ottimo e prezzo buono già concordato. Hanno anche alloggio.
