Location virtually in centre of town, but very quiet. Easy and free parking. Rooms spotlessly clean and staff super friendly and helpful. Excellent kitchen and lounge facilities -en suite rooms very comfortable. Coffee, tea, alcohol and light snacks available most of day until 9-10pm. Continental breakfast good. Many wine bars, restaurants and cafe within easy walking distance catering for all prices. This not a hotel but YHA so bunk beds but very comfortable and excellent value for money. (Do not expect chocolates on pillow).

We found it hard to find the entrance when first arriving. Reception/ restaurant area is warm & inviting. Our room was a good size, paying similar to hotel properties, i would expect towels to be included in the room price. Other than that it it was a nice stay. Close to town.

What a fantastic place, a great location, a lovely town and friendly people. I stayed with a friend but will be coming back with family soon. The chap on the desk was very accommodating too and let us put our motorbikes in a secure part of the courtyard. Highly recommended 👍

I've not stayed in a YHA for many many years - but so delighted to find they are still going strong and are embracing all who come .... including those like me who are older "youth". The bed was single, but comfy and the bedding nice and warm. I was in a room for 5, but had it all to myself. Good shower, and bathroom facilities en-suite. All the staff I met were extraordinarily friendly, welcoming and kind. The cafe area had good selection of food and drinks. Breakfast was great. The room - and the shared areas - were clean. Good supply of local area walks; tourist places; Lindisfarne tide times and bus timetable. I will definitely consider staying in a YHA again on my next trip.

great facilities - especially the easy secure storage for bikes, and well-equipped kitchen, dining, lounge space. Downstairs bistro has a great friendly atmosphere and sense of community. The building is a lovely historic space in the granary building, with great local highlights, advice and information.

We booked 2 nights for a private ensuite room for 2 people paying £45 a night, which is reasonable for the the location. The room (304, Grass) was large and had 6 bunk beds. Being quite tall I struggled with them. The beds were comfortable and each had a reading light & charging socket. There was plenty of space and storage in the room The main issue was the smell from the shower. It just smelt so mouldy even with the extractor fan coming on every time you entered the room. There were some spots of mould on the ceiling and it was not pleasant to use. On the first night we tried to eat at the hostel but were told they could not make loaded nachos that were on the menu so we ended up having to go elsewhere. The coffee machine was out of order awaiting repair. The social spaces were fine but the sofas were quite worn, the self catering kitchen was nice with lots of space. The location itself was great and parking is free for 24 hours in the nearby Quayside car park, or free for 2 hours in the car park outside the hostel (you do need a parking disc to park here). There is lots to see and do in the town centre, lots of places to eat and drink and lovely beaches 10 minutes drive away from the hostel. The staff were friendly and welcoming but when were leaving we asked how we found the stay to which I replied "Ok". It was fine for what it was and the cost but it could been better.

Booked for sole use group from 23rd to 27 th December. This is the 5th time we’ve used this hostel for sole use. Was shocked by what we were confronted with. Received and email 24 hours before arrival that a room had to be closed off due to sewage leak . Got that sorted. Kitchen was filthy with broken fridges and oven grills. Loose electrical plugs on kettles. Spent 3 hours cleaning everything in kitchen. Then group arrived to filthy en suite bathrooms. The condition of the rooms were disgraceful. Dirty showers sinks and pans . Apparently hostel had been occupied for two months with field workers and they left day before we arrived so obviously no time to clean. Then we had to move a young family out of their room as the sewage was a problem in their en-suite. Spores of mould in ceiling. So we had to go buy cleaning materials and spend our arrival day making place safe to stay. Sadly the place has gone downhill very fast. Even elevator was filthy. Back door which was our main door had broken handle or no handle should I say so security was an issue. Furniture in very bad condition. I have emailed twice but no reply as yet. First email was sent 24th December. One positive was Rob the duty manager. He tried his best to help us. Shame on you for wasting what should have been a lovely friend and family holiday.

The staff were friendly ad helpful, though we weren’t able to check in until the full party of 7 cyclists had arrived. We had 2 bunk rooms booked, both rooms were clean and tidy though very warm even with the windows open. There was a communal lounge and kitchen for guest use, or you could eat in the cafe. We had breakfast, which included cereals, a wide selection of fruit and yoghurt as well as a full English breakfast. You had to order the night before, but the quality of the cooked breakfast was excellent. All in all an excellent budget venue that suited our needs perfectly.
