Abbazia Country Club

Well equipped, quiet resort surrounded by forests. Ideal for guests who like biking, walking in the woods. Beautiful small churches from the thirteens century nearby. Wonderful thermal spa in Lenti, 10 km from the resort.

Our stay at this resort was deeply disappointing from start to finish. Basic amenities that one would expect at even a budget hotel were completely missing. The staff were unfriendly, unhelpful, and at times downright rude, making us feel unwelcome throughout our stay. We had booked breakfast for a day, but the spread was extremely limited and completely unsuitable for vegetarians, there were literally no options available. The room itself was poorly ventilated, unbearably hot, and had no fans or any sort of air circulation. At night, the mosquito problem was unbearable, making it impossible to sleep comfortably. We stayed for a week, and in all that time, there was no room cleaning service provided. For something as simple as groceries, we had to travel an hour just to bring food back. Overall, this was one of the worst travel experiences we’ve had. Between the lack of amenities, poor service, and uncomfortable living conditions, we cannot recommend this resort to anyone.

Even though the resort is almost at the middle of nowhere, our family enjoyed the quietness and accessibility to countries like Croatia, Slovenia and Austria as it is near the border. Lenti Thermal Spa is also worth visiting , both for us parents as well as for the kids.

This resort had a beautiful view, and every staff were so kind, so we enjoyed staying here. However, though this resort is for long term stay, when I asked a receptionist, she told us a washing machine is broken. And that was pretty inconvenient.

Very pleasant place with friendly staff, good kitchen and absolutely dog friendly! One more thing is needed, and the place would be five stars, an enclosed dog run (there is already a dog pool!). The place is very quiet, there's a nice cool breeze from the surrounding forest even in July, the rooms are cool and are mosquito safe.

Our trip to Abbazia Country Club was fabulous. It was everything we hoped for. Dogs, horses and beautiful countryside. Easy walk to Slovenia and a short drive to Croatia. The front desk person at all times spoke sufficient English to be helpful. The balance of the staff did not, but they made every effort to communicate and witha great attitude. We were always pleased. The restaurant was delicious. Menus in Hungarian and German. Google Translate helped immensely. The main attraction for us was the horses. The couple who manages the barn both speak English more than functionally. They will take you on trail rides into the forrest and across the border into Slovenia. We also booked a carriage ride. That also was in the woodlands and across the border. The rooms have no A/C, you can rent a fan. In USD it was a negligible cost. Internet was not included but also very inexpensive. They do not have laundry facilities, but you can have clothes washed for a few dollars per 5kg load. The room was spacious the furniture was all solid hard wood. We booked the romo that could accomodate 4 anticipating a folding sofabed in the front room. It was another full bed. Our only leisure seats were hardbacked chairs. I don't like most beds outside of the US, and this was no exception. They were more firm than I would have preferred. The TV had many channels, only two were in English BBC news and Bloomberg. We weren't there for TV so it didn't really make a big difference. We watched some Netflix on our tablet. The internet was more than sufficient to stream. WE WILL BE BACK
