Amazing Stay in Dali – Great Location, Thoughtful Service! We had an amazing stay at this hotel in Dali. Its location is perfect—right next to the ancient city, making it super convenient to explore on foot. The only downside is that it's located within a pedestrian-only control zone, which means vehicles like taxis and Didi can’t drop you off directly at the entrance. On our arrival day, our Didi driver wasn’t sure about the hotel’s location, so we ended up dragging our luggage quite a distance along the walking street to reach the hotel. That said, the service really made up for it. The hotel stewards were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Although the guest rooms on Level 2 are only accessible by stairs, the staff kindly used their kitchen service lift to bring our luggage up for us. This lift is mainly used to deliver meals to the dining area on the same level. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. The mattress was incredibly cozy, and the pillows provided great neck support. Everything in the room—from temperature and lighting to curtains and toilet—was controlled digitally, which added a modern touch. The bathroom was also spacious, with stable warm water for both the shower and the basin. Amenities were generous: full-size bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and body lotion were provided. There was a large bathtub in the middle of the bathroom in an open-concept layout, which we didn’t use since I was traveling with my son—felt a bit awkward for us! There’s also a small gym equipped with a treadmill and a massage chair. We didn’t get the chance to use it, as we had a packed travel schedule. The hotel offers complimentary afternoon tea and a light hot dessert in the evening upon request. Unfortunately, we were too busy to enjoy both, but we did try the evening dessert—it was a nice touch. Breakfast was delicious and well-portioned. On the first morning, likely due to low occupancy, breakfast was served as a tray set with a main dish and sides including fruits and vegetables. By the second day, more guests had arrived, and the hotel switched to a semi-buffet format: the main dish was served at the table, while guests could pick sides from a buffet line. There’s also an open rooftop area on Level 3 with a great view of Cangshan (苍山)—a perfect photo spot! When we checked out, the stewards went the extra mile by helping us carry our luggage to the nearest vehicle-accessible point. Their thoughtfulness really made our departure smooth.
