Honglinge Inn (Dali Ancient Town South Gate)

It felt like staying at a Bai ethnic minority's home. You can swing on the rooftop, admire the moon, gaze at the city tower, and listen to the sweet voices of the young hosts. While others have cats or dogs as pets, their pet is a big goose, rumored to be a good guard. The owner was incredibly nice; thanks to his advice, we avoided many tourist traps and saved a lot of money. We stayed for four days and it felt like visiting relatives. It seems to be the owner's own house; they live on the first floor, the second and third floors are guest rooms, and the fourth floor is a terrace and laundry area. Housekeeping was prompt. Don't be too critical of the decor; it's really great! 👍

The inn has a great atmosphere. It's not far from the South Gate of the ancient city, just a two or three-minute walk, and it's pretty quiet at night. The courtyard feels very comfortable; it's a shame I only stayed one night and didn't have more time to relax there. The owner is also very nice, the bed is comfortable, and there's a mosquito net so you don't need mosquito coils. You can definitely stay here with peace of mind.

The owner was really welcoming and even upgraded us to a family room. From the top floor, you can see the Cangshan mountains in the distance, and there's a swing that the kids absolutely loved.

This was my first time visiting Dali, and I booked this hotel blindly online, but it turned out to be a great choice! Since I wasn't familiar with the area, the owner even came out to meet me and gave helpful directions to the nearby attractions. The service was excellent. They also recommended some delicious local dishes. The hotel itself was very clean and had a lovely ambiance, perfect for taking photos. I would definitely book this place again if I return to Dali.

The owner is very nice, and the rooms are very clean. I booked a triple room and also a family room. All the beds were very comfortable, the environment was good, and it was very quiet. Highly recommend! It's very close to the South Gate of Dali Ancient City, about a 5-8 minute walk, and there's a food street right nearby.
