The owner is a really kind human, the room is big, aircon works really well for both heating and cooling. Slippers are provided, many plugs, and the water pressure is really good. Free washing machine with detergent downstairs, can dry your clothes on the rooftop of the hotel. Just be aware that the weather can change pretty quickly! The pictures are the view from the rooftop. Location is very convenient if you want to go outside, visit and eat. On the bad side I found the location next to street lights very inconvenient, as at night time it reflected through the entire room, even with curtains closed. The bed was not comfortable, the sheets were coming off and they were ripped. The pillows were really comfortable though. The shower smelled funky.

I have a lot to say about this place - starting with the owners, who were absolutely lovely. When they spotted me outside looking for the place with my map, they came right out to the street to help me find it. The room was clean and nice, and the bed was very comfortable. The location is on the other side of the main street from the old town, but it's the "right" side if you're planning to explore the pagodas and the mountains. In fact, I hiked down from the mountain straight to my room - it's about 2km from the trail exit if you're doing the Jade Belt hike. Now for the downsides. The room gets very cold, and there's no way to heat it. There's also no kettle in the room, so if you want hot tea you have to go to the reception - that was the main drawback for me. Mobile reception in the room is almost nonexistent, but the WiFi is excellent, so it wasn't an issue. One more note: the room description lists a TV, but there isn't one. It didn't bother me, but it might matter to someone else, so I'm mentioning it here.
