Pothana Village

Luxurious hotel, great food, wonderful location in nature and the staff are so warm and friendly. Highly recommended to stay here.

The Pothana Village is a must stay accommodation lodge in Sigiriya - Sri Lanka. A very private oasis and a beautifully cared for family property. Dennis and his family/team are truly amazing people. The food was excellent, the pool exceptional. They arranged national park visits for us. A very memorable experience. Dennis was even able to track down a lost phone from one of our people and recovered it which took 4 hours. Massive thank you and please do stay here its something very special.

The property was set just about 2mins from the main highway, making it very quiet. We loved that we couldn't hear any vehicles at all. The property was filled with lots of trees and we could hear and see peacocks many times during the day freely roaming around. The restaurant was very clean and spacious. We liked the breakfast very much. The staff was very courteous as well. The room was very spacious and clean as well, and had everything we needed. Overall, very happy with this property. Strongly recommend it.

Place is great, very quiet with amazing garden. You can enjoy your breakfast or pool time with lovely birds singing. Staff is very kind and helpful.

Amazing grounds, tons of wildlife on the property including a ton of monkeys and peacocks. Super kind owners, excellent Sri Lankan food (and beers!). Nice pool, and really close to Siguriya Rock and nearby businesses. Can’t wait to return.

Lovely quiet location with sounds of nature, dining outdoors with lovely gardens, amazing pool! Peacocks and other birds keep you company at breakfast. Room quite basic but does the job, hospitality was very good, as is the location for Sigiriya and national parks. Highly recommend!

This resort is difficult to access. There is limited choice for food . There was no hot water .

I was expecting clean but basic facilities for the price of the room. Basic yes, but the rooms were damp with an overbearing smell of bleach and insecticide in the bedroom and - shall we say drains in the dischevelled bathroom. The blinds were broken and held together with string. To be fair, the sheets were clean but there was no hot water. We were advised on checking out after one night that there was a switch for a water heater on the outside of the building, but nobody had bothered to tell us. The "village" was situated up a very bumpy road which you would probably not want to walk along in the dark and to be honest had a rather sinister feel. To be honest, we could not wait to leave.

Wow, this place is absolutely amazing and beautiful, with so much wildlife right at your doorstep! You can see elephants, monkeys, peacocks, and tons more. The hotel staff were fantastic too. I’d definitely come back and stay here again. It’s such a beautiful hotel!
