The room was decent, and the hotel generally has good facilities for Africa. However, you must be careful with the front desk. They offered to arrange a taxi, then claimed someone would be sharing the ride, and then tricked me into taking an unlicensed taxi. It was actually hotel staff who did this, which was very dangerous. I gave the driver a tip and got out as quickly as possible. Who knows where they would have taken me late at night? It was extremely unsafe.

I booked this hotel due to two reasons - its a Marriot property now and the beach pier which I saw in the pics. Unfortunately the pier is closed now and there is no direct access to any beach. That was a big disappointment. The other issue was that there is no calling bell outside the room. So the staff has to knock!! If you are asleep or TV is ON, you will mostly not hear it. Bit strange despite being a marriot property. The pros: The check in and checkout was seamless. The reception is very well managed and the people are very nice and hospitable. The breakfast buffet was good with nice vegetarian options (which I had requested and the hotel was kind enough to oblige). The deluxe room with ocean view was quite large and had a nice balcony. though not directly on the watefront, could view the ocean...it should be renamed as partial view of ocean though. The in room dining food was quite good. Also the location is in a nice part of the town.
