Windamere Hotel - A Colonial Heritage

We were really looking forward to this fancy afternoon tea we had booked. First of all it was really hard to come in contact with them to make a booking. They never answered what time we should arrive and I sent two emails asking. It wasn’t much of afternoon tea, scones where dry, the cream was frozen and the cakes were dry. For the price you pay you do expect Newley baked scones and cakes. Service was okay but nothing extra. I would say it’s not worth the price and it feels like they still are living on a old reputation.

Location ambience rooms everything was awesome would recommend it to every one food was good staffs are good and cooperative

We stayed at Windamere Hotel with family in October 2025 and absolutely loved the experience. The hotel’s colonial heritage is its biggest charm—every corner, every room, and every antique piece tells a story. It truly feels like stepping back into the elegance of a bygone era. Food is good tho portion sizes couldbe better.. most of the things on the menu unavailable which was not good. Room suites in main building quite haggered and old and could be maintained well.. Hotel us well located. Bath tub was broken and used as shower area. Carpets were not well maintained. Could be so much better. Staff tho were great.

We booked a Super Deluxe Cottage. It was so bad we actually lost our deposit just to get out of there. Old, cracking walls. Electrical wires sticking out of the bathroom wall. 2 disgusting twin mattresses shoved together to make a "king" bed. No safe. No gym. Do yourself a favor and book 1 of the 3 luxury hotels right nearby. The Mayfair was great.
