Datong Huamao Grand Hotel

The hotel's surroundings are great, right next to Datong Ancient City. You can overlook the city views directly from upstairs. The room layout needs improvement; the bedroom is very large, but the bathroom is too small, making it inconvenient to even turn sideways.

The hotel isn't smoke-free, and the cigarette smell was quite strong. It looks like a very old hotel, and the lighting is dim. It might have been a great hotel decades ago. The parking lot is very large with plenty of charging stations, which is a big plus.

This hotel is located right on the edge of the ancient city, just a few minutes' walk to get inside. Huayan Temple is to the left, Shanhua Temple to the right, and you can reach these attractions in about fifteen minutes. From your hotel window, you can enjoy a bird's-eye view of the ancient city.

Service: All staff, from the front desk to housekeeping, were warm and friendly. Environment: Excellent location, very close to the ancient city. It's only a 3-5 minute walk to get into the old town. Hygiene: The room was clean and hygienic. Facilities: Well-equipped.

The Datong Huamao Hotel is conveniently located and easily accessible. The room size is decent, and the facilities are complete and well-maintained. The sheets and towels were clean and hygienic. Both the lobby staff and room service were very enthusiastic. My partner and I were quite satisfied with our stay, accompanied by our daughter. We give it a good review.

Pros: 1. The hotel's location is excellent, right by the city wall. From a room with a view, you can catch a glimpse of the ancient city's rooftops, and the night view is quite good! 2. The housekeeping staff were very responsive and diligent in their work. 3. The disposable linen-cotton slippers were very comfortable. Cons: The facilities are really outdated! The sofa and cushions looked… well, not great. The drain in the shower clogged after I washed my hair, and I even have short hair! I had to clear the drain myself, which would be quite unpleasant for anyone who likes things clean. While the view outside the window was nice, the exterior glass was covered in stains, clearly not having been cleaned in a long time. However, the room rate wasn't high, and the pickup point for day tours was nearby, so I won't be too picky.

The room was quite clean, and the facilities were in good condition, with professional service. I chose this hotel primarily because of its location right next to Datong Ancient City, offering great views and convenient access. It also has a parking lot, and the restaurant's dishes are quite distinctive with a good variety of choices. Although breakfast was average and lacked variety, it was nutritionally balanced and met basic needs. Overall, the hotel's location and the scenic views were what we were most satisfied with.
