Staying at the Holiday Inn Express Datong Pingcheng far exceeded my expectations – a definite five-star rating! The hotel's location is superb, very close to both the ancient city and the commercial area, making getting around a breeze. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and attentive, from check-in to answering questions about local attractions, they were detailed and patient. The room was spacious and bright, and the cleanliness was impeccable – the bedding was crisp and soft, and the bathroom had a separate wet and dry area with not a single water stain. The most delightful surprise was the smart room control system, allowing one-touch adjustment of curtains and lights, which felt very high-tech. Breakfast was varied and abundant, with both Chinese and Western options, and the freshly cooked noodles and 'daoxiao mian' (knife-cut noodles) were particularly authentic. Whether for a business trip or a family vacation, this hotel offers incredible value for money. I will definitely stay here again next time I visit Datong!

This hotel stay was incredibly satisfying! First off, the breakfast was exceptionally rich and varied. They even had a chef making knife-shaved noodles right there, which tasted absolutely amazing. Plus, there was a late-night snack service available. They thoughtfully provided foot-soaking tubs with herbal packs too. The room itself was well-arranged, clean, and hygienic. We left in a hurry and forgot something, but the hotel called to let us know and promptly delivered it to us. Highly recommend this place! We're definitely planning to stay here again next time we visit Datong.
