Guanwo Hostel

The location is super close to the ancient city, you can basically bike to all the attractions you want to see there. The environment is great, and the auntie cleans the common areas spotlessly every day. She's also very enthusiastic and gives recommendations for nearby sights. The facilities are complete, and I especially loved having multiple shower stalls! The female dorm even has a dedicated vanity area, which is amazing. The only small issue was that the Wi-Fi on part of the second floor of the female dorm was a bit spotty. I originally booked for four nights, but I loved Datong so much that I extended my stay for another night to get some good rest. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Datong!

Guangwo Youth Hostel is great! The cleanliness, bedding, and washing areas were all fantastic. It's also not far from Datong Ancient City. I highly recommend everyone give it a try; overall, it's really good.

I usually don't leave reviews, but I really wanted to review this place for my fellow Thais visiting Datong. The accommodation is absolutely excellent, super new, easy to find, and not far from the old town. The bedroom and bathroom are well-divided. The staff are helpful and kind. I highly recommend staying here!

Overall, it was decent. There's no actual door to the room, just an open common area and private lockers. The room is separated from the hallway by a curtain, so it can get a bit noisy with any sounds from the corridor. The heating in the room was extremely strong, almost suffocating, to the point where I couldn't sleep well and had to go downstairs for some fresh air in the middle of the night. Some of the shower facilities weren't great, and there was nowhere to put my toiletries.

The environment here is fantastic! The decor is super luxurious, and the hygiene is top-notch. The service is also very attentive, and they even offer equipment rentals. It's incredibly close to the main scenic spots. This time, I didn't make reservations, so I couldn't visit the Yungang Grottoes and the Hanging Temple, but next time I'm in Datong, I'll definitely stay here again!

Highly recommended for anyone visiting Datong looking for affordable and clean accommodation. The staff are incredibly helpful and provide excellent service! 💯
