Great location, and the ladies at the front desk and in the restaurant were incredibly welcoming and warm. I felt right at home.

The hotel is situated atcthe begining of Datong ancient town, the location i really good to visit the city. The rooms are small but confortable. Breakfast is limited and not continental.

Very thin walls: hard to sleep with noise. Not too dirty but not very clean. Ok location within ancient city. Friendly staff.

This hotel is really really beautiful - maybe even more than the photos show. Even though the style is traditional, everything inside the room is new, and there's even an elevator to take up bags. The location is amazing too, inside the old city wall, and I walked everywhere except the out of town attractions I visited. I think anywhere you stay in Datong you might have some communication challenges if you don't speak Chinese, but the owner here was very helpful once I put wechat on my phone to be able to talk with translation help, and he was able to arrange a last minute taxi out to the hanging temple after I had given up trying to get one. However, even though he was very helpful, he wasn't always around, and checking in was a bit difficult because there was nobody at the desk. I think this is only a problem if you don't speak Chinese though. Unfortunately, the wifi didn't always reach to my room on the 3rd floor well, and I could only get a trickle of hot water out of the shower. Overall though, I was super happy with this place and would recommend it!

Decent little place with a nice patio. The room was nonsmoker but I guess it got its share of smoke from the adjoining common room. The shower was nice and new but the walls could use some dusting. Walking distance to shopping street

The room was perfect. Warm and clean. Shower works perfectly. Staff very helpful. Very interesting building. A little far from the centre.

Quiet and conveniently located

The courtyard house is very distinctive, the rooms are unique, and the hygiene is excellent. During the Chinese New Year, there were plenty of meals available, which was very convenient. Located right next to the ancient city, transportation is also very convenient. The antique charm is truly beautiful! I booked in advance, and the price wasn't expensive. The experience was fantastic! I did encounter three small dogs, which startled me; I wasn't sure if they belonged to guests or the hotel.

Superb! The landlady was very welcoming, the room was clean and hygienic, and breakfast was included. It's close to nearby attractions and pet-friendly. Parking is also convenient outside of peak season. Highly recommended!

It's very close to the attractions; it's just one bus ride from Datong Railway Station to the accommodation.

It seems like they lack a service-oriented mindset; employee training and business management both need improvement.

The room was nice, but it was my last day of the stay, and the staff came knocking on my door around 9 a.m., urging me to leave early. I said, "Isn't it supposed to be 12 p.m.?" He said, "I'll try to leave as early as possible." I said, "I'll try." He said, "Leave early? Try to leave as early as possible!" I got back very late last night because of traffic, and I was planning to sleep in until I naturally woke up today, but I was still being urged at 9 a.m.! This is truly the first time I've encountered this kind of service!
