This is my second stay here! It's very close to the ancient city, about a 10-minute taxi ride away, and also about 10 minutes from Datong South Station. The hotel has a high star rating, and the butler service is attentive and warm. The rooms are well-equipped with everything you need. It's truly perfect for families, as it allows for separate resting areas while also providing space to work. A big shoutout to the lamb offal soup with vermicelli at breakfast – it was delicious!

Stayed at the hotel during the May Day holiday and the service was absolutely fantastic, making us feel right at home. The hotel's stir-fried dishes were also delicious, so we ended up having all our meals there throughout our trip. Overall, the service experience completely exceeded our expectations. It was great!

The location was inconvenient. The hotel is old and unclean. There was a strong smell of cigarette smoke throughout the property. The rooms were dark and musty. The carpets were old, dusty, and dirty. The bathroom was old and nothing like the advertised photos. The towels were old and looked unclean.

I've stayed at this hotel multiple times over the years. Even though it's an older hotel, everything is great – it's clean, well-maintained, and the rooms are spacious. The service has also gotten progressively better. This was my first time having dinner at the hotel restaurant, and it was excellent!

Datong Wangfu Zhizun Hotel definitely deserves five stars! The location is superb, close to the ancient city and convenient for getting around. The room was super spacious, clean, tidy, and the bedding was comfortable. The service was warm and attentive, and the front desk was efficient. The breakfast was plentiful, with local specialties like lamb offal soup and knife-cut noodles. Free underground parking was also very convenient. Overall, it offers great value for money. This is my top choice when visiting Datong!

Traveling as a family of three, we stayed in a suite with two bathrooms and a living room. The facilities were excellent, and the staff were incredibly attentive and thoughtful. Besides the welcome amenities upon check-in (tea, snacks, and lovely bed decorations), they even brought a foot bath bucket with herbal packs in the evening. They also noticed I was using my laptop and thoughtfully provided a mouse pad. All in all, I was extremely satisfied. I'll definitely stay here again if I have the chance.

Our stay was very pleasant. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the city center was easy to reach by bus. The team was very welcoming and responsive to our wishes. The hotel gym was also relatively well equipped. We can definitely recommend it.

The rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean, and the beds are incredibly comfortable—making it easy to unwind after a day of sightseeing. This was my second time staying at the Great Palace Hotel, and once again, it exceeded expectations. Its location is ideal—right in the heart of the city, close to all major tourist attractions and just a few kilometers from the train station. Special thanks to Manager 崔经理, who was exceptionally kind and helpful throughout our stay. I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Datong. What truly sets this hotel apart is the attention to detail and the genuine hospitality of the staff. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or returning guest, the service remains consistently high. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between traditional charm and modern comfort, making it a reliable choice for both leisure and business travelers. From check-in to check-out, every aspect of our stay was smooth, relaxing, and enjoyable.

Great hotel with excellent rooms for price. I loved my trip to Datong. Breakfast was very good and staff extremely helpful, special thanks to 李永花 who kindly helped me clean my shoes! I will return here on future visits to Datong.

It was a very pleasant stay in the hotel. I stayed for three days and I enjoyed the comfortable and spacious room with its soft floor, the adjustable illumination and the goodies which I received daily as well as the breakfast buffet, which included a variety of Chinese food, salad, fruits, toast, cornflakes, little cakes and freshly made noodle soup.

Rooms have some smell. Bed is not very good and old.

Terrible service provided. The hotel charged us 400 RMB deposit but didn't refund us after check-out. The customer service is really difficult to reach and one staff refused to communicate with us although the hotel still owes us the deposit...

The service was very good and the staff were very friendly and helpful despite the language barrier. There isn’t very much around the area but the stay was comfortable. The bed could be more comfortable and offer better refreshments in the room. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

Although our stay was only one night, the experience was very satisfying. The room is very nice and equipped with everything we needed (toothbrush, soap, shower and bedroom slippers), and the staff was always very friendly.
