Howard Johnson Plaza Jindi

Great 3 night stay. It's a very short Didi ride from DaTong South Railway station. It's right next to the DaTong Ancient City area. It's a close walk but the entrances for the walled city are all in the middle section of each wall. It's walkable but it's also easy to rent a bike or take a 7 rmb Didi to the main area. I couldn't find any convenience stores close but I was ok without them. You can also have things delivered to the hotel and the robot will bring it to your room. Room was great. Big, clean and comfortable. Pillows were also good. Had a view of the old town which was nice at night. I traveled in April. It was warm in the room because I think only the heat works that time of year. I tried the AC but didn't seem to cool the room. They had two windows you could open. It was around 0C at night so it cools down the room enough to sleep comfortably if you don't like sleeping in a warm room. Shower had strong water pressure. Towels and toiletries good. The shuttle bus stop is very close to the hotel too. You can take shuttles to some of the tourist attractions outside the city. They shuttles are cheap and convenient. Less than 10 minute walk I think or a 2 minute Didi ride. It's the "DaTong ancient city" stop. The buffet breakfast was good. They had a big variety of western, Chinese and local foods to eat. One day breakfast was on the 3rd floor and the other days it was on the 28th floor when it was busier. They put snacks and fruit everyday. Actually good snacks, I ate all of them everyday. I was also sick with a cough. The worker must have noticed the first day in the hallway. That night when I came back I had a handwritten note and a pear tea to help with my cold. They provided the same the following night. I really appreciated that. Overall was a great stay. I'd definitely stay there again if I go back to DaTong. I'd recommend staying there.
