Gongchen Hotel (Datong Ancient City Branch)

Our experience at this hotel was wonderful. Since we arrived everything was perfect. The room was perfectly cleaned and fully equipped with everything that we needed. The hotel is located just in the city centre, with two convenience stores right next to it. The best part was the staff. They are lovely and charming. We had a really good time with them in the afternoon speaking with the translator. They even gave us tea and offered cigars. I truly recommend this place to enjoy your trip in Datong

The hotel’s location is perfect. The staff is helpful but rarely speak English. The room is clean.

Perfect location, friendly owner and nice room.

We arrived late but still got to check in easily, however, there really isn’t any proper reception. So we couldn’t ask help from the staff, as we cannot determine as to who works there. No elevators as well, you would have to go up to the second floor thru the outside stairs to get to the hotel proper. Little space in the room, not very tidy if I’m being honest. It shrieks of smoke. Tho it serves its purpose, a night is survivable.

Great location. Had no issues as a foreigner. Rooms are rather large. The bathroom was well stocked. Friendly people
