I decided to visit Datong during the off-season and booked a Hilton Garden Inn. The location was quite convenient (not in the old town area), and not far from the airport. There were also various small shops and pharmacies nearby. The room was clean and tidy, with no unpleasant odors. The heating was excellent, making it very warm. The service was also very attentive and considerate; they asked if I needed help sharing a bed. The breakfast selection was quite extensive, and there were plenty of spacious seats.
