Christmas Lunch. Just totally amazing from start to finish. An extraordinary setting, beautifully decorated and the entire team without exception are outstanding. They achieve an intimate caring atmosphere whilst maintaining a professional service- no mean feat. I cannot recommend highly enough.

It would have 1 star but the redeeming factor in a terrible stay was the finely dressed, charming gentleman at breakfast who made delicious coffee and made me leave feeling happier - thank you! Not normally our kind of place but we were staying for a wedding. Really wish we'd booked The Old Bell Inn instead! Be aware that there are no signs for the hotel as you drive up with it on the right, we went straight past as did lots of others and there are no turning points for ages. The large sign coming at the hotel from the other way is obvious - why isn't there one on the other side? Into the carpark, 2 buildings one at either end but no sign for reception. Eventually found a small one behind a tree! Couldn't see any disabled parking spaces! Check in not very welcoming to start and then when she started describing all the staircases, I asked for the lift as I'm disabled and can't walk far, especially stairs. She seemed amazed that I expected an accessible but I've never had a problem anywhere else before. I felt very uncomfortable and was ready to leave! The very prominent and unwelcoming sign on reception forbidding drinking alcohol in your own room on threat of being made to leave is offensive and laughable. Do they have cameras to check? When somewhere has recently been refurbished, I would expect at the least a ramp up the steps from reception! My husband helped me but how do wheelchair users and prams get in? Apparently there is a lift but not to the allocated room and we couldn't use it because it comes out in the ballroom where the wedding party was eating at the time. She said there was a ground floor room that hadn't checked in but wouldn't change rooms without checking with the groom. I was mortified and said to leave it til they'd finished. We planned to eat there anyway before getting ready, so we're happy to wait. Said we'd have a drink in the bar and she went off to ask. The bar is at the side of reception (up steps with NO DISABLED ACCESS), two women were having drinks, so we got the menus from the bar and waited....and waited...no staff to see be drinks, just dirty glasses on the bar. Receptionist returned, room change fine. "Can we order food and drinks now please?" having had time to choose from the menu. "No, it's closed." "What time does it open?" Looks amazed again, "No, it's closed". "Closed for the wedding?" "No, closed! We can't get the staff!" I'm not surprised!!! If your restaurant is permanently closed, take it off your website, remove the menus available at the side of the bar and remove the large sign advertising an Italian restaurant instead of the hotel! Gave up and went to room, which was freezing. Put heating on and went to nearest pub which was fabulous, so all well. Back to room to get ready, still freezing, too cold to have a shower! Party was great, loved seeing family. Woke up by my teeth chattering from the cold at 4am!! Still no heating, I used the hairdryer to warm up, got dressed and b

Owner or member of staff was unbelievably rude towards me. All I did was ask to open the gate to the car park so that I could leave in the morning. Treated me like a criminal when I politely asked to be let out of the car park.

We had such an amazing experience from start to finish. Firstly the delightful owners, from them picking up the bride and groom in their super cars to delivering them to the church and venue they were so professional, approachable, friendly and lovely people. The venue, truly stunning! Every detail was on point. From entering we were well looked after and taken care. Drinks and canapés were served to guests with smiles. The wedding breakfast was so tasty and delicious and the lemon tart was the best I’d ever tasted. The attention to detail was truly astonishing! We danced the night away All staff were so friendly, polite and well mannered. Everything ran so smoothly. The owners and staff put in so much effort and hard work, I’d like to thank them for making my families day such a wonderful experience. So thank you Saddleworth Hotel for a day we will never forget!

We stayed for a wedding. The wedding was wonderful no doubt cost an arm and a leg, but the location is stunning, and the hotel did a wonderful job. What let it down was the chicken *****s and chip the children and some of the adults had for there wedding breakfast, they looked under done and the chips were cold. Some of the adults got two pieces of chicken some 4 year olds got 6-7 none of the meal. The music at the breakfast and the rest of the night was loud and I mean LOUD, you couldn’t speak to each other without shouting and missed half of any conversation and for a family gathering with family coming from all over the country this was a shame and the DJ was no help. Take your life savings with you for the price of the alcohol, £5 for a bottle of Peroni. £8.50 for spirit (single) and mixer. Having paid £180 for the room I didn’t expect to have electric wires sticking out of the ceiling, that weren’t taped off, the bed hadn’t been aired and felt damp, Also having to use a walking stick for balance I found this hotel very disabled unfriendly. Although the wedding was wonderful the hotel could have made it so much better

Attended a wedding at the hotel and stayed overnight. If you’re disabled, find somewhere else to stay…NO DISABLED ACCESS. The staff were keen to help but there are so many different flights of stairs. There is a lift, but to get to it you need to be able to do stairs to get to it! The room….£180 for one night, decent size, comfortable bed and clean. However, there was an electrical wire poking through the ceiling. Tea making facilities consisted of a travel kettle, 2 teabags! 2 coffee sachets and 4 servings of milk. When staff were asked for more teabags, they didn’t know where they were kept. No proper cups, just cardboard disposable cups….COME ON, FOR £180 I EXPECT A PROPER CUP AT THE VERY LEAST. Breakfast was fragmented, hot food came out at different times, so it was very difficult to put a breakfast on a plate. If the hotel wants to be regarded as a luxury hotel, as would be indicated by the price, it needs more staff and more attention to detail. I’ve stayed at many travelodge type hotels and had better facilities and never have there been the stingy numbers experienced here with regard to beverages.

Horrendously over priced. £160 for the room which had a lumpy mattress the main light didn’t work and the window seals let in a draft. We were cold all night. Then breakfast in the morning was a choice of 5 items they didn’t even put beans on and the toast was cold. The drink prices were out of this world £12 for a double gin and lemonade. Everything was overpriced when all it is in essence is a very nice bed and breakfast place which the owner is trying to make into a fancy hotel. It’s not fancy just because you charge a bomb for everything. We will never be going back

Saddleworth hotel is definitely one of a kind ❤️. We booked our wedding back in April 2020 during a zoom call with the amazing Daniella. A zoom call was all we needed. The hotel is stunning! Every room is filled with the finest detail and thought. We visited the hotel many times before the wedding day and greeted each time by Daniella, Anthony, Scott and Scarlett. For a chat, planning and just to look around. Every guest who attended last week appreciated the hotel and gorgeous picturesque surrounds. Our photographer and videographer loved every minute with so many views and backdrops to choose from. From the minute we arrived the day was managed by the amazing family and staff. Daniella took care of everything and everyone. Showing when them where to go and making sure all the finest detail was perfect. (You will never see a table set so perfect!) The 3 course meal provided for our guests was amazing and delicious. Nobody was left hungry! We had lots of children attend our day and they were allowed to run and explore. We were lucky enough to book the whole hotel so many of our guests were able to stay. Everybody loved the rooms. Quality beds, furniture and amazing views. Breakfast was amazing, Anthony opening up the restaurant early so the little ones could get seated. I could go on and on, Saddleworth hotel is a real gem and we were so lucky to find it and have the best day of our lives. It’s a family run business which for us has proved to be the best because they really care and are now our friends. We cannot wait to find an excuse to return! Thanks again Daniella, Scott, Anthony, Scarlett (no1 bride security) and all the team at Saddleworth hotel. Xxxx

We had our wedding here in November 2021. After 2 cancelled dates and beginning the process with the Saddleworth in 2018 we finally had our day. We couldn’t have picked a better place. The team couldn’t have been more supportive during what was an awful 2 years for both brides and the industry. Nothing was to much trouble, and we rearranged our date twice with ease. When ever we dropped by to rearrange, cancel, reorganise we were met with a glass of Prosecco and a can do attitude. The day itself was a long time coming and was perfect from start to finish. The venue itself is amazing all of our 130 guests said how amazing the day was. From the rooms to the food to the team we couldn’t have been happier. The guys at the Saddleworth have been doing this for years but I really felt my day was important to them and if your a panicking bride like me you really do need Daniella and Scarlett by your side. I couldn’t have done it without them.. literally.. From Anthony’s stern calming advice in the car , to Daniella and Sophie sending me down the aisle.. and Scarlett for finding my handbag and keeping my wine topped up. Thank you so much!
