Holiday Inn Express SHANGHAI JING'AN TEMPLE by IHG

I brought my family to Shanghai for the National Day holiday, and choosing this hotel was absolutely the right decision! The hotel facilities are very new, the room was clean and tidy, the bedding was comfortable, and the soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a wonderfully peaceful sleep after a day of exploring. It's located right next to a commercial district, with restaurants, snacks, and bubble tea shops all around, so you don't have to go far for food, drinks, or entertainment. It's also very close to popular Shanghai attractions like Yu Garden and The Bund, and getting around by subway was incredibly smooth. This is definitely my top recommendation for accommodation during National Day travels!

This was my first stay at a Holiday Inn Express in China, and it brought back good memories of my previous stays in the US before the pandemic. I had quite a few impressions this time around. First, the front desk staff were very friendly and polite. However, when I opened the door to my room, I was hit with a strong smell of smoke. After I reported it, they immediately helped me change rooms – I was very satisfied with that 👍. The breakfast deserves praise; there was a good variety, and everything suited my taste buds. I was pleasantly surprised to find two types of cheese, which paired nicely with a Luckin Coffee – very enjoyable! I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Shanghai. As an unexpected bonus, they even gave me a small gift when I checked out.

I was initially worried that it would be too crowded during the holiday and affect the experience, but the stay was a pleasant surprise! The location is convenient; you can walk to Nanjing West Road and Zhangyuan, making it a great place to stay for tourists.

I think this hotel offered good value for money during the National Day holiday, especially considering its location in Jing'an District. The breakfast was really good, with freshly made noodles and wontons, a wide selection of fruits and hot dishes. Plus, you could even grab a freshly brewed coffee to go!

The breakfast offers a wide variety of options, combining both Western and Chinese cuisine. Not only do they have bread and croissants, but also freshly cooked noodles and wontons. The fruits and salads are very fresh and delicious as well. The 24-hour self-service coffee on the first floor is definitely a highlight and worth praising!
