Nirvana Resort

We stayed three nights at Nirvana Resort in early July and loved our time there. Spectacular location, the grasslands are alive with flowers and birds, and everyone at Nirvana was kind and helpful. We had our own car (ideal if possible) and alongside visiting Labrang Monastery and walking in the nearby hills, we also enjoyed driving around the backroads into Qinghai and immersing ourselves in the landscape. At the end of each day it was perfect to climb the hill to the Sky Bar and drink a beer while watching the land grow dark.

Lovely and peaceful stay at the grasslands, relaxing and vitalizing experience. Amazing views all over from the room and all around the area. The staff is really friendly and supportive. The restaurant is open all day and has great views, good homemade local food. I wish we could go back to Nirvana Resort!

The location is unbelievable. It was so peaceful, quiet, and stunning in every direction you look. The food in the restaurant was delicious and the breakfast was the best, although it’s not included in the stay. I had some trouble using the hot water so left without having a proper shower, which is something I got used to in that area. I can imagine it’s really tough to supply hot water out there (I stayed in more places than one and it was that way in all of them). The Nirvana cowboy who checks you in and greets you is lovely, and can provide any help you need. The room is warm, fantastic, and the hills feel wild and totally free for you to explore. 4G works no problem in the room. I would loved to have lived here for a week just soaking it in and resting my mind and soul. Thank you Nirvana resort!

What a beautiful stay! Perfect for anyone who wants to be surrounded with amazing nature in a natural setting. The wood fire in the cabin, the star gazing at night, the majestic surrounding, the friendly staff and inspiring owner really gave us an amazing time.

Wonderful place in a beautiful location outside of Xiahe. Very nicely decorated wooden cottages with great views of the grasslands. Stayed with our two kids (2 and 7 years old) and they loved it - lots of space to run around, water stream to play in, nature, horses for rent close by etc.
