Beautiful hotel, and personnel were on point! Unfortunately, the parking was $45/night, when I thought it was complimentary, and the $50 room service ended up being $81… I guess I should have asked to see the invoice before checking out :/

We had a wonderful one night getaway. We loved the setting. Staff were all courteous and friendly. We enjoyed a lovely dinner at San Morello. We are looking forward to returning soon!

The hotel needs to do a better job cleaning. Our bathroom was not very clean. The toilet had stains and there is hard water white stains on the shower head and removable shower head. There was also hair from other people in the bathroom. The valet service was not the best either. Not very helpful and organized properly. Needs improvement.

We really enjoyed our stay! A few things were less than perfect. Our room was a bit small, and hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned. There was also a fishy smell in the shower, though it dissipated when we ran the water. Most of the staff were super friendly, a few less so. As for eco-friendliness, I didn’t see a recycling bin or any signage encouraging guests not to waste towels, etc. Overall, the hotel is beautifully designed and decorated, the food is fantastic, and it’s certainly a unique place.

Overall very nice, great service. The bed and couch are not very comfortable and the pillows should be burned, they are among the worst I’ve ever put my head on.

This was our second stay at the Shinola and it was everything we expected and more! We had a bit of trouble with the thermostat, so that's why the 'pleasant' rating for comfort. Otherwise it was PERFECT and we WILL be back!!!

This place is super nice! Very comfortable and everyone is super sweet! I would definitely recommend this place for a weekend out in the town.

Really nice hotel! Enjoyed our stay! Rooms were very clean and nice! Overall a nice stay and we would love to stay there again!
I think the customer service could have been better, they were ok! Didnt feel too welcome from the staff in the front desk!

Having stayed at this property several times now I am still always impressed by the friendly atmosphere and professionalism of the staff. I have never stayed in the same room twice and that’s also extremely appealing to me. This is the only place that I allow myself to stay in Michigan and there’s a simple reason as to why. Simply put, this is the absolute best hotel in Michigan and also holds my own personal “Top Five” in the world! Yes! I said world, as I’ve traveled internationally. You get what you pay for like everything else in this world and the Shinola delivers a world class experience. If you’re looking for a deal or bargain rates this property is probably not for you. Conversely, if hospitality, professionalism, attention to detail, style and taste are of importance, you cannot go wrong here!
