The Good -The pool area, when open, is absolutely stunning and amazing. -The cleanliness of our rooms was fabulous. -Staff, despite not being able to speak English or French, were very nice.  -Renovated rooms are nice. The Bad/ugly -ROOM : Upon arrival, we were given a partial ocean view. We returned to the front desk and were told that it was an oceanview and that we got an upgraded room. The smell of paint in this room was very strong. We were told that an oceanview room would cost exponentially more than what we paid. -We spoke to many people in the same building and they all paid for a gardenview room and got a free upgrade with the same view. They seem to arbitrarily give out rooms with no logic. -The manager kept telling us that they were in transition and we needed to be patient.  -We were luckier than another couple who arrived the next day. They paid for the oceanfront and got a gardenview.   -After 5 days and many conversations, we were given an oceanfront room on the fifth floor. I had to sign a waiver for this.  -After two nights of rain, this 5th floor room had water puddles on those two nights. This newly renovated room will probably need to be redone very soon as the wall where the water was coming in was already crumbling.   -In both rooms, the patio doors did NOT lock.  Thank goodness we were on high floors. -Bedsheets often had holes. -Incidentals :  We had to pay 3$ US a day to use the safe in the room and give a 20$ US deposit for towels.  -Kids : We were told once again by the deputy manager that they were in transition and we needed to be patient.  He said the kids would be gone by Tuesday of our first week. Those kids did, but there are condos on the property that are rented out so they had kids who used the same amenities as us. -Resort : is under construction. Our days were filled with sounds of jackhammers, saws, sanders, etc. They were heard around the pool and at dinner time in our room, from 9-6. -3 of the 4 pools were closed our second week. First couple of days due to high winds and because of a storm that filled them with sea****, they needed to be emptied.  After emptying them, they decided to fix and paint them.  The smell of strong epoxy was nauseating. -We only had one available pool that only had ladders to get in and out of, so anyone with disabilities was not able to use this pool.  -The resort is open to the public on weekends.  They arrive early and create line ups at the bar by the pool. -So after being down to one pool for the second week, we had kids and locals to share the one pool as well. -All the staff, including the ones at the front desk, have a very limited knowledge of English. -Food :  No mimosas. -Nothing good to say about the food. Same food at every meal, no themes or variety. Except for eggs in the morning, they do not cook anything fresh at the buffet unless they run out of something and you happen to get lucky to be there at that exact moment.  -You cannot ask them to cook fresh pr

Prepared for a beach holiday, we were not prepared for the incredible clear sea and the overwhelming amount of shades of blue as far as the eye could see. The hotel is very grown up, spots with pools and seating are dotted throughout and the bar was a joy. We ate mostly at the hotel, big spread at the buffet, breakfast pineapple everyday was a treat. Walking into our suite, you couldn’t help but be drawn to the ocean view, the tiled floors were nice and cool for hot feet. King sized bed, safe, fridge and believe it or not the ceiling fan was efficient. Going home we felt twenty years younger.

I love the location of this hotel! Brilliant for divers. The hotel service was up and down being the bar staff I couldn’t fault but the food truck chief was very miserable and snappy. The food is also up and down I would recommend the Italian restaurant and the Mexican. There is also a Japanese restaurant which is not included but they have themed nights at the buffet which included a Japanese night! So all the food was made at the Japanese restaurant and carried to the buffet. I would say that the main block is very out dated and needs a major revamp. You can get the “best standard room” modern room which is in block 4. I have had to go to reception for AC not working and broken shower faucet which they sent a guy straight away which got sorted very quickly. There is a wide variety of drinks including cocktails, iced coffee, coconut slushy which is used for coco loco and pina colada.

I have never stayed in a place so unpleasant the room is disgusting a room with no view just a roof across from our balcony The bathroom is filthy and damp paint peeling off the walls taps dirty and rusty windows in the bathroom dont need washing they want digging first The food is well below average the warmest thing I've had was the soup and I've never seen so many 🪰 flys settling on all the food I always choose my food carefully. Some of the staff are quite pleasant but others look like they have the job from hell and just dont want to be there. The pools and bar are the best bit the food from the food truck is really good They really should invest in a proper seating area with a bigger bar not just the little thing they have overcrowded and uncomfortable next to the reception And there are still renovations being done to the main blocks loads of workmen on site Would I return to this hotel never even if it was free

My new husband wanted to come to the Dominican Republic so I booked our first anniversary here. We enjoyed the food especially breakfast. The choice of swimming pools are great. Our bedroom was massive, even though it was a double and we used the terrace a lot as a private place to relax. All the staff were friendly and the standard of cleanliness was excellent. We were very happy with the free wi fi, and the out to sea views from the hotel are just incredible. Felt like our special place and will be a hard one not to return to. They do the little things right and we noticed the extra inches, wonderful holiday.

Really had my doubts about coming here after reading many bad reviews… how wrong they were .. here now and it’s absolutely brilliant considered the price we paid … no maybe not 5 start but definitely not a budget hotel and still in the process of being updated .. The food is great , especially the Italian where you dine right next to the sea .. beautiful! And the staff can’t be helpful enough and so polite .. entertainment brilliant .. so to those who reviewed and said staff were rude maybe check how you speak to them ? Maybe it’s you because it’s certainly not them . Really lovely .. here for two weeks and if the last two days are anything to go by I’m sure we will have a fantastic time ..

The room was really lovely.the entertainment team were absolutely phenomenal. The aqua aerobics were the highlight hahaha. Food was lovely mainly the breakfast and lunch. Drinks were strong 😂 so be prepared. They do an all white party, a retro party which turned into a dance off and also a silent disco and fire display. The hotel staff were very helpful and everyone was lovely. Definitely come again.

Superb carribean resort that is not a five star Las Vegas hotel but an incredible 4 star delight. All reviews are I complete are from the heart We were given an old style room BUT it is massive. Hot water.. clean sheets and immaculately clean. The staff here are incredible and work so so hard. Food ... we loved it even with us both having dietary needs. Pools excellent. Security are everywhere and an excellent shuttle to the beach. I really cannot say anything bad ... thank you.
