K Avenue Kota Kinabalu by The Pillow House (Tower B)

First time in Kota Kinabalu, and first time booking a hotel here – it was truly excellent! I'd definitely recommend it to anyone visiting KK. The room was spacious and the facilities were all well-equipped. Had a wonderful time on my trip to Kota Kinabalu!

The room was just okay, and the online photos must have had heavy filters – there were even geckos! It was overpriced for what it was. It's close to the airport and one of the few high-rise buildings around. The area is still under construction. Buildings A and B are back-to-back, so you have to go to Building A for food and laundry. Laundry costs 15 MYR, and if you put in the wrong coins, there's no refund. A taxi from the airport here was 5 MYR, and getting to the airport the next morning at 5 AM was 7 MYR. The drivers couldn't communicate much, but they were all nice and helped with luggage. I paid cash for all Grab rides. The front desk staff didn't speak Chinese and were gone between 4 AM and 5 AM. For checkout, you just leave the key in a clear box at the front desk. I forgot to take photos, but it's fine for a one-night layover.

The room was great, perfect for families and couples alike. It was spacious with a balcony, offered good value for money, and had a comfortable environment with large French windows and a big balcony. A really good choice!

The room had a sophisticated feel but was a bit rough around the edges. It seemed recently renovated, with a strong smell and substandard cleanliness. The drain also clogged easily.

Much better than I expected! It's close to the airport and having two bedrooms and two bathrooms is perfect for families. I'd highly recommend it for families with early flights who want to stay the night before. Plus, there's a coin-operated washing machine downstairs which is super convenient.

This hotel is very close to the airport, only 3 kilometers away. A taxi ride took 13 minutes and cost me 11 MYR for a 6-seater car. It's perfect if you have an early flight. I highly recommend staying here. It's an apartment-style hotel with a kitchen, stove, and basic cooking facilities, but we only stayed one night so we didn't use them. Downstairs, there's a row of restaurants, and one of them was exceptionally good. After spending over a month in Malaysia, I was so happy to find such delicious food right before heading back home – it was good enough to make me cry!
