Stayed in the hotel last week with GB tours . The hotel has been refurnished to a high standard . I was in a single room but this was surprisingly large and had a double bed which was a pleasant surprise . The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice but the evening meal was let down by the fact all the veg served was frozen veg and not fresh veg . The hotel was closing for the season at the weekend and a lot of things were missing from the bar such as draught beer and also tonic . The meal times were very rigid , absolutely no choice regarding the time you could go in . I have stayed at this hotel previously but I won’t use it again .

Stayed as part of a group. Single room on 4th floor was fine. There is a small lift to help get up there with luggage but after that the stairs were fine (once you find your best way down as there are many routes!) My room had plenty of space but was at the back so didn't have a sea view . The bed was foam not sprung but still comfortable enough. Tea, coffee, milk etc supplied plus hairdryer and small bottles of body wash and shampoo. The staff were friendly and very helpful, nothing was too much bother! Although not gourmet, the food was fine. It is self service (except the main dish) although plenty of staff on hand if any help needed. Three courses each night with a carvery meat each night and two other options. Vegetarian option wasn't always available but if requested in advance, if was ready each evening. Breakfasts were great with hot and cold options. As the hotel seems to cater mainly for groups, each group has a time to go to dinner and breakfast, which helps the queues. The dining room has views over the promenade to the sea. There are bus stops nearby (bus and horse tram!) and the town is close enough to walk to. We didn't have to park as we used public transport but was told there is a parking permit system that the hotel can advise you on and there always seemed to be some space along the prom. We used the buses and trams all over the island and they were great - especially with the Go Card which can include the steam trains and trams.

On arrival at the hotel at 17-55hrs a member of the staff bordered the coach to tell is we had to go straight for dinner as it was served at 18-00hrs. So without a wash or shower after travelling from the UK, ferry crossing and coach we had to carry our hand luggage coats etc into the restaurant for dinner. We were packed in like sardines, 10 of us on a table. The restaurant has no A/C only a few fans. The restaurant is hot and humid most people very hot. Dinner is a buffet. For some reason you can’t get your own soup a member of staff has to get it for you, which is a nice surprise. The soup and the puds were good but the main meal very iffy. Our room when we entered 307 was like a blast furnace you could hardly breath only one fan which was as much good as a chocolate fire guard. The layout of the hotel is like a maze, in my opinion it’s a fire hazard. The lift will only take 3 people or 2 people with a couple of cases, is a service lift not a passenger lift. While we were at dinner the staff had put our luggage outside our doors. I can go on and on. The good news is that the staff are very good and helpful. You can get lunch from 12-00hrs but the bar doesn’t open till 14-00hrs so much for a beer with lunch. Am I hard to please NO, would just like a decent hotel on my holiday not to much to ask.

I've just completed a 4 night stay at this nice hotel with Jason Edwards Travel .from the moment you arrive the staff go out of their way to be helpful .food is a self service /buffet style set up with at least a choice of 4 main courses .the rooms are of a typical British sea side standard with everything you need included. You have entertainment a few nights during the week. The biggest asset this hotel has is its staff all are so friendly .Jason edwards travel has tours to this lovely hotel/island through out the year .would I come back yes definitely

The rooms are clean & spacious if you’re travelling solo or having a twin room be aware only doubles appear to be at the front of the hotel so no views unless you’re in a double. Solo rooms are a single bed. Some parts of the corridors have been renovated some seem like they are probably waiting to be. The reception staff are helpful & friendly and willing to assist with any enquiry. The restaurant is excellent and the food delicious. The bar is nice and prices are fair medium Pinot £5, Gin & Tonic £4.20. The hotel is situated fairly central but as there are bus stops everywhere and the transport system is excellent it’s easy to get all over the island. I would say that the hotel does cater for coach parties but I suspect most of the hotels in the area do the same.

We stayed here on a trip to the Isle of Man for the TT Races. The Hotel was well located, clean and rooms were well equipped and comfortable. Staff were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The restaurant was very good for breakfast and although there was only a limited menu for dinner the food was very nice.

WOW What a lovely surprise. Clean spacious room. The most friendly helpful staff. Great Bar. Great Breakfast. We had the best stay. This place was as good as Premier Inn any day. We would highly recommend and will be returning next time we are at an event in Douglas.
