Sea Breeze Guest House

Booked a single room in August 2025 and paid up front, thought that would be it, cheap and cheerful B&B sorted. Received an email April 2026 just 8 weeks prior to my trip advising me that due to staff shortages my booking was declined! Before I could even get hold of anyone (never answer phone) I recieve a text message saying 'Due to the computer system double booking my reservation' my booking was declined! (Which lie is it?) Sister property offered however, not like for like (still available cheaper now on ***********) with horrendous reviews and further away from amenities. It would appear that if the sister property is not fully booked they just make up an excuse to cancel your booking and offer a substandard alternative! Eventually receieved a refund after having to call *********** customer services! Decided to pay a bit more and guarantee having somewhere decent to stay!

Really basic guest house with small rooms and even smaller TVs. The rooms are clean, but that’s the only positive. Very small, no amenities, the walls/ceilings are paper thin and you can hear everything that is happening in the building and next door. Hallway lights also don’t work half the time. Only one socket per room and it’s in an awkward place (not close to bed or mirror) . Sinks are also tiny with a shelf directly above which make them difficult to access. Breakfast options are very poor - cereal or toast and you can’t even help yourself to it. Location is ok, just off the promenade.
