SLS Dubai Hotel & Residences

Overall, it was quite good, though there were a few small bumps with maintenance. However, the service was absolutely excellent! I especially want to mention the wonderful operator at reception, Tika—hope I’ve got his name right!

I booked this hotel specifically for the rooftop infinity pool. If I wanted just a standard, mediocre room, I would have stayed somewhere cheaper. I paid many hundreds because of the facilities they promote. They also claimed my room was “upgraded,” but it was clearly the exact same room type I originally booked, almost identical to the photos in my confirmation. Nothing extra, nothing improved,and nothing was done to make things right. On top of that, they failed to inform me in advance that the rooftop pool would be closed for a private event. Had I known, I would never have chosen this hotel. What’s the point of coming here then? I checked in around 3 PM and found the entire rooftop closed. The next morning at 7 AM, it was still shut until 9 AM. Completely unacceptable for a hotel in Dubai that advertises the rooftop as their main attraction. And I have to check out to catch early flight so it was basically a waste of time staying at SLS. Their “solution” was to offer access to a pool on the 6th floor, which they didn’t even explain properly. And let’s be honest: a regular pool on a lower floor is not an infinity rooftop pool. It’s ridiculous to offer that as a replacement. Service overall is moderate at best, and the entire experience feels good only at misleading. They said “sorry, amenities will be delivered.” Nothing was delivered. No compensation. No follow-up. No accountability. For a hotel in Dubai, this level of management is unprofessional, misleading, and extremely disappointing. I absolutely do not recommend this property.

We loved our stay at the SLS. They surprised us on 2 separate occasions with a dessert as we were there for our honeymoon. The rooftop view & pool was stunning. The hotel is super close to Dubai Mall. About a 20-30 min drive away from the beach. Super easy to get a Taxi. The breakfast every morning was great. Staff was super friendly. My only complaint would be, they wanted to charge us for ice which I have never had a hotel do before. Other than that, wonderful stay.
