Service was substandard. Shower had shampoo, conditioner and soap dispensers; the shampoo and conditioner were both empty on our check-in day. Wife was in the shower, discovered the problem, I called the front desk to see about getting some sent up, was told not possible today/tonight -- they'll have housekeeping refill tomorrow. Tomorrow came and went (we were out all day), we came back, the room hadn't been touched. Same thing the next day.
Checking out, no one at the front desk to talk with.
The dead bolt on our door didn't work; the knob just spun round and round instead of throwing the bolt, so we felt less safe in the room. The couch in the "suite" was very uncomfortable, and lacked back cushions altogether.
Where the carpeting met the floor at the border between the regular room section and the bathroom and kitchen, there were carpet tacks coming up just through the carpet, so that as we stepped on that area in bare or sock feet, we felt like we were stepping on, well, tacks -- fortunately not long enough to pierce the skin. Moreover, it seemed like the carpeting hadn't been vacuumed.
The bed was fairly comfortable, but there was dried blood on the sheet when we checked in, and of course that was never dealt with as the staff was non-responsive.
One day upon returning to the hotel, we could not get through the parking lot to the area of our room because a tow truck was in the process of removing one of the cars and was blocking the access.
I had shopped for an economical lodging option, so I guess you get what you pay for, but this seemed like an experience that fell well below the standard for running a hotel.
