I stayed here with 2 friends for the garth brooks concerts thursday to saturday 15th to 17th septembet it is not a wheel chair friendly facility also there was water marks on ceiling and walls the floor was very dusty the beds were very uncorfatble also the pictures showed in advertising are nothing like the actual room we stayed in it was a disapointment. How ever the white moose cafe is a delightful experience with lovely staff and lovely food.

This property is marketed incorrectly, and it is not a hotel or lodge; it is a glorified hostel. Issues with the room started with the door not locking properly, which clearly they know about as there was a bolt on the back of the door. The room smelt musty, which was why the single glazed large window was wide open upon walking into the room, meaning anyone could access the room as it was on the lower ground floor. To make matters worse, a picnic bench was located immediately outside the window to help people get in! Within 5 minutes, I knew this room was not safe for a single woman (or anyone) to stay in. I packed up my belongings and headed straight back to the front desk to explain my concern, not feeling safe and that I would like a refund and to check out. The lady at the front desk did not offer any alternative room; she simply said I understand your concerns, and please contact the agent you booked through. Three days later, I was told by Agoda (the booking agent) that they can't do anything to assist; Naomi, the Supervisor of the hotel, declined the refund. How is this right or fair? Given I was in the room all of 5 minutes, it was not safe for me to stay there. When expressing my concerns, NO alternatives were offered. The hotel rating should be zero stars and the customer service the same. Do not go there if you want a safe place. The hostels in town are on par and a quarter of the price.

My son and I love this hotel. We've just had our 3rd father-son Dublin holiday this year. Everyone working at Charleville Lodge Hotel is warm and friendly. The rooms are fantastic. Big, roomy, warm. Fab food on White Moose Café. A genuine 60 second walk to the Luas. Secure carpark. Great value (for Dublin). My son (8 yrs old) says " I love Charleville Hotel" I do too!

We stayed here for only one night and it was good value. The hotel is in a good location and walking distance from the center. The room was clean and comfortable, and staff were pleasant. We enjoyed our short stay.

A welcoming lodging for a solo traveler. The staff was kind and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Enjoy my breakfast at the cafe. Great location to Pheonix Park when you want to take it easy in a beautiful park. Restaurants, shops, and grocery store nearby. It is a little further from city centre than I thought. Luckily Dublin has a good public transportation system and can catch the bus out front.

I’ve never felt so spoiled at a hotel. This place went to the extravagance of providing an additional tap with every sink (like 99% off sinks in the UK and Ireland). I thought the service was good and the staff lovely. One small gripe though: I did have to carry three separate little pics of paper up to my room (with Wi-Fi codes) but it was good exercise for me. I don’t mind walking and carrying things, but then I’m not American.

Charleville Lodge should NOT be a 3-star hotel or charge as much as they do. This hotel is hostel quality. The rooms are in dire need of refurbishing. The carpets and curtains are musty, the furniture are scuffed, and the worst was the bathroom. It had black mold in the crevices, the appliances were old and rusty, and were designed more like a public bathroom - for example the sink had separate faucets for cold and hot water and there were soap dispensers on the wall (that were empty, you were supposed to use the bar soap provided). The common areas smelled like cleaning solution all the time. It was also very weird that we had to leave our room key with the front desk any time we went out. Finally you had to get a separate wifi code on a paper slip for each device. This place may be ok to someone with barebones expectations, but they should not be marketing themselves as a nice 3-star hotel and charging the same rates that 4-star hotels in downtown Dublin do. Would not recommend.

Location: Pretty much outside of the city center in the Northern Part, but this made it silent (except the few people who were enjoying their drinks outside) Reception: The lady at the reception was kind and gave us soe information where to find food late at night. Breakfast: We did not ask for breakfast, as we were leaving pretty early. Common Space: Although, we have not used it, looked appealing and could imagine that it invites a circle of friends ot enjoy some drinks and have a chat. Room: Small, but served the purpose (stay one night to catch the early train). The floor was squeking, the room got stuffy (window could not really be opened and no AC). The bed was smaller that is convinient for two people and instead of the closet, a bigger bathroom would have been nicer (especially since there were multiple drawers to use to store cloths. Price/Quality: We booked late, so it was the cheapest of that time, however, based on what we got and how much we paid for, plus the fact that we had to pay a deposit, made the overall feeling not that impressive.

Came to Dublin for a staycation with my young son. Charleville Lodge was recommended by a friend. We are so glad to have discovered this place. A warm, welcoming oasis in Dublin. Affordable and comfortable. We had a room with a view all the way to the Wicklow Hills. Very comfortable bed. Fabulous breakfast and great service from the restaurant staff - just what you'd expect in Ireland. Our booking was handled by Nadia, who did a very professional job, and handled all my questions perfectly. Knowing that it was a special father /son vacation, she allocated us a lovely room. On our first evening there, we told the receptionist (Laki) that we were going to the zoo the following day. Laki asked my son (aged 7) what was his favourite animal. He said "penguin". Half an hour later, Laki produced a beautiful drawing of a penguin, which we kept on display in our room. It's this level of kindness and attention to detail that makes Charleville Lodge such a wonderful home in Dublin. Thanks everyone. We'll be back!
