Hegu Harmony Valley Retreat

The photos and activities looked wonderful before I booked, and I truly couldn’t wait to stay here. Unfortunately, the actual experience was quite disappointing.When we checked in and entered our room, we had to walk down a small dusty staircase, which made the room feel more like a basement than the cozy accommodation shown in the photos. The bathtub also had drainage issues, and there was moss inside the tub in the corners, so we didn’t feel comfortable using it at all. Our package included a SIM card, mountain hiking, and a gong class. However, we didn’t get the chance to join the activities. The hiking activity was only available from 10:00–11:00 a.m., while the Trip.com booking information stated that it was available until 4:00 p.m., which was misleading. In the afternoon until at night, there was only one lady managing the hotel, and it seemed they were short-staffed, resulting in limited service. The one thing I truly appreciated was the opportunity to write Buddhist scriptures (经文).

Love the entire design of the resort. Room is cozy. Stuff is very nice and friendly. Will definitely come back!

We loved our overnight stay at Hegu Harmony Valley Retreat. The eco retreat was a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of Chengdu. The resort offers meditation and script writing classes. Breakfast was simple but delicious. Would loved to have stayed longer. The location is a little out of the way, ehich we loved, and didi is very convenient everywhere in China. Qingcheng Mountain is well worth a visit. Be aware that there is a 'front' and a 'back' mountain, located approximately 10km apart. The front mountain is more well-known, mainly for its Taoist temples and cultural aspects. The back mountain has better natural scenery.

Highly recommend! The resort is absolutely paradise. I stayed here for 3 nights in the middle of my China trip for some rest and rejuvenation and it was perfect. Friendly and very helpful staff, nothing was too hard or too much. I did meditation each night which was excellent!! Very relaxing. I had an additional massage which was incredible also. The restaurant is great,lots of options and accommodating for dietary needs. Lots of activities nearby and Didi very easy to get which I wasn't sure of. Highly recommend!! Very peaceful stay.
