Very good hotel, the space design is very modern, the service is very attentive, there are shopping malls in the neighborhood, there are places to shop, there are also places of literature and art space

Booked this hotel for a 10 year wedding anniversary, And nearly walked back out the first room that was purchased was the following Tired pain work coming off the walls Chipped all over the room Small uncomfortable and creaky bed Small in size not what the website shows Bathroom was dirty The air con filter needed changed The hall ways were tired Plug socket facing hanging out the wall The room simply should not be in action. Went to reception the lady kindly upgraded the room free of charge for the hassle. The next room was much improved however still very tired looking, Moving on from the negative Breakfast was lovely and service was of high standard Overall wouldn’t return and the experience wasted my trip!

We stayed mid September for a wee getaway for my birthday and were given a suite room 209. While the suite was amazing we were so disappointed and surprised upon entering the room to see workmen in scaffolding walking back and forward right outside our window. No privacy whatsoever. I would have thought we should have been informed of the building works prior to arrival. It was the same the following morning as we were awoken early at 8 am by the workmen starting work and making such a noise right outside our window. Also, on the website it states that the suite rooms have lovely views of the V&A museum and bridges.....we had neither. We overlooked the road looking towards the train station. This was such a shame and the reason for me giving a 4 rating when otherwise it would have been 5. Aside that, the hotel was beautiful, food in the restaurant was amazing as were the lovely staff.

An overnight stay here and we have room 209 a junior suite, well worth the upgrade as you will see from the photographs. Just had dinner and we were attended to by Mia, her first night on the floor. Well done Mia you were so attentive and helped us through the menu. Food was superb and I even got to speak with head chef over the pass and thanked him for our meal. Great pedigree worked for Andrew Fairlie and in London and Italy. Anyway back to the food which was superb as was the service and a wonderful atmosphere in the restaurant, thanks team for looking after us and I can’t wait for breakfast 😊

Stayed 2 nights with friends. Hotel areas very nice. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Unfortunately I had to speak to the manager Jordan regarding one of the bedrooms which was small with only one chair, no table, lighting was so bad you could not see in the mirror to put your makeup on. Why only one chair when its a twin room. There was no water in the room either. Our friends on the 4th floor had a spacious bathroom, water and 2 seats. Our main concern was the extremely small bathroom. It was claustrophobic..you could hardly turn around, nowhere to hang your towel, no hook for your bathrobe. I brought all of this to the attention of the Manager Jordan as its only fair for them to hear your concerns face to face. He appeared to agree with most of it and I did say if I was staying more then 2 nights I would expect to be moved to another room. Hotel didn't appear to be very busy so why stick someone in an unacceptable room. We also paid a lot of money for the rooms. After our discussion he said he would give me his card and see me before we left on Saturday morning. This did not happen. Very disappointed that he could not even offer us a bottle of wine or a complementary drink as a good will gesture. Black mark Jordan. In the surrounding area there are plenty budget hotels which would be just as good but we decided to go upmarket!!!!

Cheerful, friendly, helpful staff. Great central location - very handy for train station and short walk to the shops and restaurants. Rooms were lovely but very poor lighting when trying to put makeup on for a night out! Breakfast was delicious but busy (we had been told we didn’t need to book) and the tea/ coffee situation surely needs addressing. Hotel guests all queuing up for coffee (or just hot water for their tea) while their ‘hot breakfast’ was going cold! You need at least a second machine or a separate hot water tap, or just take a tea/ coffee order when you take the cooked breakfast order??

The very dark interior took a bit of getting used to but once we did we enjoyed our stay. Room was spacious as was the bathroom. No problem with noise from outside as mentioned in other reviews but we were there mid week so perhaps that helped. Breakfast was beautifully presented by very attentive staff. We would certainly return next time we are in the city.

I went with my mom and sister for a night as a treat. Booked three cozy rooms - all had slightly dodgy views of the internal light well. My room particularly was really really dark. Parlty the window facing the gloomy light well, partly the dark purple furnishings. I feel like Malmaison miss a trick with the unimaginative decor - they seem like a slightly posher Premier Inn to be honest. Spotlessly clean but basic. All the rooms had the same Dennis the Menace print above the bed. A bit boring. My air-conditioning didn't work and the windows wouldn't open, which was a pain. Also there were only two pillows for the whole room, which I thought was stingy. However! A massive however! Both dinner and breakfast in the restaurant were first class - the food was great - and the whole experience was made absolutely brilliant by the staff who looked after us. First of all the dining room is massive - meaning that you're not close to anyone and it feels really relaxed. Our evening meal was so nice - our waiting staff asked us if we were there for a reason and I told them it was my big sister's birthday so they offered us all a free glass of prosecco which was lovely. The male waiter was just lovely - so nice and engaged and was happy to give a bit of banter. The morning breakfast staff were just as nice - friendly and human (a nice chap from Hungary - when we asked where his accent was from he made us guess which was really funny). I recently spent a weekend in a really expensive glamorous hotel in Paris - but the staff were surly and rude and I wouldn't go back. On the other hand, Malmaison's warm welcome would pull me back despite the dark rooms. I think if you pay for a room looking onto the Tay you'll get a better room - less dark.
