"The Fable Dunedin is a nice and cosy classic hotel - but it is not really on full 5star level. - In total we had a good stay and enjoyed our stay. The location is a bit remote and the surrounding not that welcoming. This was some compromise because we had to park car there public (for free) - the hotel parking lot was a bit away, what made it inconvenient for us. The breakfast is very good quality, but has to be chosen as a single item from a menu."

However, the bedside lamp required charging before it would work, so a Type-C charger is essential!!! The residents were mostly quiet and peaceful, making it a very comfortable place to live."

"We were in the“Seabreaze“ apt, which was very clean and had the exact great views over the beach as described. The bed was comfy and the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our breakfast. While it was cold outside, the heating inside kept us warm and cozy. Parking in the garage underneath, or right beside the building for a larger car. Important to mention the Italian restaurant just 100m away at the corner, which is our absolute favourite when coming to Dunedin! We highly recommend staying at the Esplanade Apartments and will book again in the future."

"Street parking is free before 9 am, and nighttime parking is very convenient. There's a large slope, so dragging your suitcase up was a bit of a struggle. There are restrooms both upstairs and downstairs, which is great. The showers are on the first floor, unisex. The laundry room is from 9 am to 4 pm, which is a bit inconvenient; we checked in late, so I couldn't do laundry, and there's a charge. The facilities are generally quite complete. By the way, you need to bring your own slippers, shower gel, and shampoo. New Zealand doesn't provide toothbrushes, toothpaste, or slippers, so remember to bring your own. You need to remove the leaflets and bed linens yourself when you leave and throw them in the laundry room on the first floor. The overall environment and facilities are very friendly, and I would recommend it."
