Unscripted Durham - JDV by Hyatt

In a fantastic location, unbeatable if you’re in Durham. Driving distance from major attractions. Parking was easy. Pool is fantastic, was fun to head to it any time and was open late. Very friendly bartenders at the pool! Drinks were great, food looked good didn’t have any. I will say it was pretty hard to get the VIP breakfast tickets, but once we got it, not too bad a of a deal especially if you’d be traveling solo. Room was roomy and clean, had a slight smell of sulfur??? Nice and quiet though, even with the hotel parties and pool right by the room.

Great spot to stay if you’re going to a show at the Carolina Theater or DPAC. Both of the night time bartenders were great. We also really enjoyed the DJ.

OK Stay Place could have been cleaner. Parking fee at checkout was confusing and not explained wee ll. Very unlikely to stay there again.

AC not working. Air conditioning was not working. Reported to desk, when we went out. Returned at bedtime, still not working. Was not offered another room . At checkout, I inquired about a discount or refund. Was offered points towards a future stay. Won't be a future stay.

The staff was super friendly, but we were not happy with our room. It was very damp throughout our stay and our shower was not cleaned at all. There were numerous long dark brown hairs on the wall. It also seemed weird that there was only one desk chair and no other seating in the room. Lastly, though not that important, the bar does not have a cocktail menu.

It’s okay. Kind of reminds of an old beach motel. The pool was extremely dirty but it was windy as all get out that day. Rooms were fine. Staff was excellent and extremely helpful.
