Hotel Mutterhaus Düsseldorf

An interesting old building. Rustic architecture, dull and a bit mysterious with a fascinating historic atmosphere in the surroundings, at the outside as well as in the renovated rooms and long corridors. A warm welcome at check-in. Stayed three nights in two different rooms, a business room and a „historic room“. Both with nice decor (in particular the latter), functional (except for the lack of clothes storage) and huge, modernised bathrooms. Sleep comfort could be better, due to hard mattresses and a few noise issues from outside. Very good breakfast served in the well lit and welcoming breakfast room. Parking options OK, a bit limited. 10 min walk to the Tram/U-Bahn no 79 at Klemensplatz with well-functioning and frequent connections to the city center. 15-20 min walk to Kaiserswerth old town.

Pros - big rooms, great breakfast with a lot of variety and fresh fruit options. Cons - outdated furnishings and amenities, difficult to charge electronics due to outlets and switch placement. Bed was very hard, room somewhat chilly with light bedding and lumpy pillows.

What a wonderful place to stay; close to the Düsseldorf airport and yet so close to an historical beautiful small town with good restaurants, a bookshop, and the Rhine nearby.

Nice hôtel, sympathic person. The room was confortable but the bed was not from good quality !

Stayed as part of a trip to the Euros. The hotel was a €18 fare from Dusseldorf Airport, and arrival at hotel was easy and straightforward. I was in a single room that was clean, quiet, nice bathroom…….everything needed for a comfortable stay. Breakfast service was plentiful with a good choice of hot and cold foods. Transport to the centre of Dusseldorf via train was €3.40 with the station approx 5 mins walk from the hotel. Lovely part of the city too that is perfect for a lazy day in this part of Dusseldorf

A beautiful building, very well restored in a nice part of Kaiserswerth, a suburb of Dusseldorf. It is a very nice alternative to staying in Dusseldorf center. The hotel has a variety of rooms some more basic than others. The staff is very friendly and will help you efficiently to make the best of your stay. Public transportation is close by and a few nice restaurants as well. The hotel is located in a park which is nice and quiet, parking easy. The breakfast buffet is very good.
