Overall, my stay was pleasant, except for the experience I had with the dining area staff.
I checked out early in the morning at around 4:45 AM and went to the dining area to get a coffee before leaving for the airport. The coffee machine had a "Coffee To Go" option, and I could see cup lids available, but there were no paper cups. I waited for 2–3 minutes hoping a staff member would appear so I could ask for assistance, but no one was around.
As I had a flight at 7:00 AM and was running short on time, I opened a door below to the coffee machine to see if I could find the cups. At that moment, a staff member arrived. I politely explained that I had been waiting and asked for a paper cup for takeaway coffee. Unfortunately, instead of assisting me, he raised his voice and told me that I should have waited for him and that I was not allowed to open the door without permission.
I calmly explained that I had only been trying to find help because no staff members were present. However, he continued to insist that I should have waited and should not have looked for the cups myself. The interaction felt unnecessarily rude and unprofessional, and I was made to feel as though I had done something seriously wrong.
It was a disappointing end to an otherwise good stay. Due to this experience, I would be reluctant to stay at a Holiday Inn again.
