Hotels near St Barnabas United Church and Christian Centre, Eastbourne

We were as part of our wedding trip in Eastbourne, at Chatsworth Hotel. The location was directly at the sea/ pier. However, you were in a few minutes walk directly in the city center. The hotel itself has charm, the staff was always friendly and helpful. Very nice rooms. Specially the chair remains in mind. We would go back immediately, clear recommendation

Excellent location for the beach, various restaurants, shops and the railway station - with the added bonus of having on-site parking. We were welcomed by the lovely Nickole who was full of smiles and very friendly. She explained the breakfast room, showed us the evening facilities (i.e. if you wanted use of a microwave), and where the lounge area was (with drink facilities if required). Our booking was for 2 single rooms and as requested were on the same floor. The rooms, each with their own bathroom, have everything you need and the beds were very comfy. Overall this B&B is nice and clean and in a good location. At the end of my stay I had the pleasure of meeting the owner Steve and through our chat I could see his passion for ensuring his guests would have a great stay (since they took this place on last year), and that he would be a good custodian of this lovely old Victorian building. I look forward to returning in the very near future.

We were checked in for a two night stay and were given 3 rooms in total due to our horrific stay. The first room we were given was absolutely filthy! We requested a new room which we were given and only got worse from there. At 2:30 am we were woken up in discomfort and itchy, only to get up and investigate the bed and find multiple bed bugs across the bed and pillows. It was horrific!!!! The bites I have received were disgusting and what was even more upsetting and disappointment was the reaction of the staff. We were moved to another room at 3am and were told to complain to the day staff in the morning which we did. They only offered us a complimentary breakfast and 10% off our stay which was only £10.30. £10.30 after all we endured during our stay is laughable!!!! If only we could upload videos of the bed bugs we took, the pictures do not do it justice at all. NEVER EVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL. Especially if you value your peace, sanity and skin.

I recently stayed at Pearl & Pebbles Eastbourne in Eastbourne for one night and overall, it was a pleasant experience. Firstly, I must commend the lovely staff, although our interactions were minimal, their warmth and hospitality were evident. The room itself was clean and well-maintained, including the bathroom which was also fresh and tidy. However, my room was located right in front of the stairs on the second floor, which resulted in considerable noise disturbance until late at night, affecting my sleep quality. On a brighter note, the bed was comfortable, and the presence of a desk and chair was a practical addition, making it easier for me to catch up on some work. I particularly enjoyed the bathroom with its window, perfect for those who, like me, enjoy showering with a breeze of fresh air. Despite the compact size of the room, it was sufficient for a one-night stay. Moreover, having a kettle, coffee, and tea in the room was a delightful bonus, adding to the comfort and convenience of the stay. However, it was disappointing to find that the room lacked a safe, which would have added an extra layer of security for my belongings. In summary, while my stay at Pearl & Pebbles Eastbourne had its drawbacks, including noise issues and the absence of a safe, the cleanliness, comfort of the bed, practical amenities, and the friendly staff made it a generally positive experience for my short stay in Eastbourne.

We recently stayed at this beautiful historic hotel on Eastbourne’s stunning seafront. I cannot fault the quality of our stay. The hotel has been beautifully refurbished and is an oasis of peace and calm. The dining experience is exquisite and the delicious breakfasts are hearty and plentiful. The staff go out of their way to help and the rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable. The views out to see are breathtaking. We’ve stayed in several hotels in Eastbourne but this one is our absolute favourite by far. We will be returning again and again. Thank you to all the lovely staff for our fantastic weekend.

We stayed for 3 nights as a family with children under the age of 6 and had the best time. The hotel service is exceptional, every need was met. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by the valet who helped us park the car and take our bags. They reserved our space for us with a board for the whole stay. The children received a kids backpack with hat, yo-yo and colouring in. We went straight down to the health club to the indoor pool. When we came out the reception said our room was now ready and collected the keys for us. Our room was a junior suite, it spotless and sizeable with drinks provided on ice and slippers for everyone. In the evening the children could order complimentary milk and cookies which they loved. The outdoor pool was heated and lovely when the sun was out, this was end of may/June. There also was a waiter serving drinks outside. The breakfast was amazing, great selection and the kids loved have every meal served with a cloche and countdown reveal. The added extras on the service make this a wonderful hotel. The positives far outweigh the negatives, I guess it could do with some new carpets and some new upholstery but the charm of the old building supersedes this and although old it was very clean. The bed mattress was ok, quite soft. The sofa bed wasn’t very comfortable but ok for young children. We will be back again!! Thank you

Great location right by the seafront. Rooms very clean with comfortable beds. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Really nice continental breakfast, and plenty of choice. Ideally placed for the Theatre which was just a short walk away.

Reception staff most unhelpful and not forthcoming with giving information. When booking I sent an email asking where we could eat with our dog that was booked in and paid for. I have no problem paying extra to take the dog but I do expect a reply, I didn't get one. When we checked in I asked again to be told that we could not have an evening meal as dogs were not allowed but we could have a light lunch menu or snack. Not what we wanted after travelling for 3.5 hours. We went somewhere else to eat. We asked about breakfast to be told we could eat in our bedroom or in the library. We opted for the library but it is very difficult and bad for the digestion to eat a hot breakfast on a lounge table, just the right height for the dog. We really did feel like outsiders. Dogs may be welcome but the owners are not. Must say the restaurant staff were lovely and I think they felt embarrassed about the whole thing. It would make it slightly better if they had a table the right height to eat.
