Underwhelmed by this hotel. Room looked onto a construction site and disappointing/expensiveroom service

We had a great experience thanks to Yannick at reception. When we arrived, I felt that the room we were initially given was not quite what I expected based on the booking and photos. Yannick listened to our concerns professionally and kindly, and he quickly arranged an alternative room for us. The new room was even more spacious and made our stay much more enjoyable. His friendly attitude, excellent customer service, and willingness to help really stood out. Thank you, Yannick, for making us feel welcome and taking such good care of us.

Although there was a minor hiccup at the start, after some communication, everything was understood and resolved amicably. The hotel is conveniently located about a ten-minute walk from Edinburgh. There's a bus stop right across the street, making transportation incredibly easy. The bedding is super soft and comfortable, and breakfast is also good. I recommend this hotel, but be sure to keep an eye on your emails and reconfirm your reservation two days before check-in to avoid any misunderstandings (this hotel has a no-cancellation policy after booking).

A great place to stay as it located rigt next to the castle. The carpark is just round the corner which is convenient Staff are very nice and the room is clean and tidy

Best hotel in Edinburgh, really good location, you have every good place nearby. You also have sone great views of the castle. Workers are awesome, shout out to Mark and Linda! Wonderful people.

Excellent location, next to Edinburgh Castle. It is a very old hotel with good facilities, a small swimming pool and sauna. A family of three checked in and the front desk gave us a family room with a separate small bed. The view outside the window is also good. There is a bathtub and capsule coffee. There is TESCO downstairs, which is very convenient for shopping. Such a good room, buy some beer and drink it in the room, it's really not too good ☺️ The breakfast on the first floor is very good 35 pounds per person. The main meal must be told to the waiter separately, which is included in the 35 pounds. This hotel has hosted members of the British royal family. There are photos in the restaurant on the first floor. It takes 15 minutes to walk to Cardington Hill. You can see Edinburgh Castle all the way. The surrounding core scenic spots are 15 minutes walk, which is great! A very satisfactory stay experience 👍👍👍

There's a castle in front of the window, it's amazing. I love Scotland and I hate England, depression, depression, depression, depression, I spent a wonderful weekend in Scotland~~~~~

From a hotel of this level and price you expect more for breakfast. At least delicious coffee :) and a cup for toothbrushes in the bathroom would not hurt either. By the way, about coffee - if you come at 8 am or later, then while you wait for the waiter with coffee you can sit - what prevents the hotel from installing a coffee machine so that I can serve myself is a mystery. The location is excellent, everything is within walking distance. The room is large, the height of the ceilings causes a wow effect :) the bed is beyond praise. There is a gym, a swimming pool, a spa and even a yoga mat and scales in the room - I did not use any of the above :)) They ask for a deposit of 150 pounds upon check-in. You would think that they have crooks living here and I will run away without paying. In general, considering the price, I would think twice - maybe there is cheaper nearby, but not much worse. The restaurant across the road Kyole is simply brilliant! I recommend 👍 and a little further, but also a minute's walk away, a good shop of kilts and traditional clothes, not a souvenir shop like on the Royal Mile. We went to the airport by bus number 100, very convenient, the bus stop is two minutes from the entrance to the hotel, the stop at the airport is right opposite the entrance, the price for two with luggage is 11 pounds, inside there is a place to put bags. We got there in 30 minutes. Everything is convenient and fast.

I booked 2 nights in total. The hotel arranged a room closest to the road. Trams, police cars, and motorcycles kept coming and going at night. I couldn't sleep all night. I communicated with the hotel but they said there were no rooms available (the platform clearly showed that there were 4 rooms available) and they refused to change the room. Their attitude was terrible! I contacted Ctrip and asked to cancel the reservation for the second night. Ctrip said they also got the room through another agent. I didn't communicate with the hotel directly and they didn't let me check out. I couldn't sleep again on the second night. Oh! I will never book a foreign hotel on Ctrip again.

The room is very beautiful. You can see the castle when you book the castle room. It is also very convenient to travel. The airport can be reached directly by bus or tram. The swimming pool and sauna are free. It is only a few steps to go to other places.

The price-performance ratio is not bad, but it is a bit old, but the service is top-notch! When those Edinburgh voco hotels are selling for 1700, I will not hesitate to spend 2100 to stay at the Waldorf Astoria. What kind of bicycle do you need for 2100? This is the Waldorf Astoria hahaha

To be honest, I was so angry this time. The room I booked was completely inconsistent with the room I was given. I changed the room twice. There were problems with the room. Either there was no hot water in the room or there was a problem with the faucet. The floor was very dirty and greased. This time I came to Waldorf Astoria. I am really dissatisfied and I can only be speechless with their front desk staff.

I often stay in this hotel. The last time I stayed there was in April this year. The service attitude was really bad when I stayed there before this time. The hotel has also changed to Hilton Hotel. It is not at the same level at all. I booked an executive superior king-size bed room, but they gave me the most ordinary room in the hotel. They said there was no room. You ask guests to book a room without a room. And I booked it online in advance. It cost more than 5,000 yuan a night. It was really a rip-off.
